I got a new monitor which has a 1280 x 1024 resolution. Before this I used to play on a 1024x768 monitor. On the new monitor, I ahve tried PGR3 and when the game starts, it shows on the whole screen and it has no letterboxing. In the menus its alright and has letterboxing. Do you know how I can solve this problem? I have even put the resolution to 1280 x 1024 on my xbox menu.

The monitor you are using now is not widescreen, and while you can set the dashboard to 1280x1024, games will still only run in 1280x720 (720p). Some games will put this into a letterbox, while others will allow it to stretch and fill the screen

go to your monitor's settings and look for where you can change the aspect ratio

i'm talking about the settings on ur monitor. not ur xbox. there is an option where u can set the aspect ratio on ur monitor so that the video that you are playing will either be stretchd out, letterbox, or completely fill in the entire screen, or will play it it's original resolution without being strechted. if u look on ur monitor, u can see the power button and other buttons to open up the settings for ur monitor.

I checked my monitor out and it didnt have any option for letterboxing and stuff. :(

Isnt there any way to make PGR3 display it letterboxed?

PGR3 does not properly support this resolution last time I tried. So unless they patched it after releasing PGR4, I think you're SOL.

all you need to do is goto where you pick the screen resolution and they is another option where you pick if its a wide screen monitor or 4:3. tell it that its a normal screen not widescreen and it will letter box it. sounds like the old monitor was set correctly on widescreen, and all you have done is changed the screen res. when u need to change the widescreen setting as well. as this controls the letterboxing. if its set to widescreen it dont letter box, if its on the normal setting then it does letter box if ur using a 4:3 resolution. also remember that the games have to support letter boxing etc as well, not all the old games support the vga to the full spec that other games do
