Which game do you think does the best job at functioning like a real life city/world ?

I would say hands down either Oblivion or Fallout 3, but there are some better sims like GTA 4 and Saints Row 2 (kinda), what do you guys think ?

I really like how in Fallout 3 you could be traveling the wastelands and run into other travelers who are also exploring, its pretty realistic.

GTA IV for sure. Sometimes I just walk down the street to watch the AI do things. Like see them get arrested, and have random gang fights, stuff like that.

I have to vote in favor of Assassin's Creed 2. I actually felt as if I were in a real city. People with task on their minds, conversations, activity, life everywhere. And the details, the small details, that they put everywhere really made this game shine.

And I just loved the way everybody lost their cool as soon as you threw down some money. Rich or poor, they just started fighting amounts themselves to just get a few dollars... (Or whatever the currency was in Assassin's Creed 2)

I have to give GTA4 the edge of Fallout 3 based on the fact that i have something real to compare it to. Granted the world of Fallout could very well be a future post- apocalyptic world, no one really knows.

Oh and Fable 2, really? No game where i can run in an throw fireballs at the civilians or smack an anvil with a hammer and have swords appear is realistic.

Hated GTA4 so really can't base an opinion on that. I'd probably choose Oblivion because of how guards/characters interact and remember things, flows well as a moving world.

"Bitter" isn't a pretty color for you. But I can admit; if you liked Fable I you had certain expectations of Fable II. And on some fronts it failed. The "real world" aspect was arguably one of those fronts; I'm so sick of seeing hearts over the head of every villager crowded into the doorway I'm TRYING to leave through, yet hearing them scream when I turn my head. >_< Also, the F1 balverines were better.

GTA IV for sure. Sometimes I just walk down the street to watch the AI do things. Like see them get arrested, and have random gang fights, stuff like that.

Yeah, I gotta agree with that; the city functions "without you" in a beautiful way in GTA IV. But the laziness of the police sorta bothers me, three blocks shouldn't be too far to chase a killer in a stolen car. As far as city-enforced ramifications go, I have to hand that to Fable II; at least the guards wanted to kill me for my crimes after I'd left and come back.
