http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/07/11/report-microsoft-collaborated-to-deliver-encrypted-user-data-to-nsa.aspx There's the link. What's the communities opinion on this? Supes_24
Well, it also shows that it's not just MS...so we just have to get use to this being the norm.
Its one thing for a company to record passive data on its users, every company does that to some extent and I cant accept that.
But Microsoft took it even further by giving the NSA the vertible keys to the golden kingdom by giving them encryption data and signing up with them basically giving them access to virtually everything the xbox one states is a feature.
Even though it was all rumors at first. Supes_24
Actualy it was never a rumor. The washingpost was about the first to reveal the information, they had the NSA's slides from the PRISM presentation a month ago.

And the NSA has a nifty little loophole for warrants on data. They dont need a warrant if they record or collect data as it is being transmitted. They only need a warrant if they wish to retrieve stored data.
So yes, you can thank microsoft for signing you up to be completely invaded by the NSA if they wish through your xbox one.
The NYC bombing says NSA is not doing a good job anyway.magicalclick
I'm not some defender of the NSA, but how can you know what was stopped? We only know a portion of the story. According to the FBI the NSA stopped NYC bombing plotsinvolving more than that one bombing, including the subway system, New York Office, and the New York Stock Exchange. Those events didn't happen because the terrorists were arrested. They got one bomb off, and not the rest. That's a lot of saved lives. That opinion you threw out wasn't researched very well and came off as incredibly ignorant, no offense. I'm just surprised to read that after reading about plots that have been uncovered recently all over the news.
On the flip side, I think this covert spying on innocent citizens is an infringement on their rightsand it doesn't sit well with me.

Microsoft allegedly assisted the National Security Agency (NSA) to intercept user communications.
According to reports, Microsoft assisted in the circumvention of its encryption for various communication services, included Oulook.com, Hotmail, Skype, and cloud storage service SkyDrive.
According to the report, Microsoft also coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist the NSA in its data collection.
Microsoft also coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist the NSA in its data collection. An individual warrant is not required by the secret surveillance court to collect these communications, so long as the NSA holds a 51 percent belief a target is not a US citizen and is not on US soil at the time of collection.
Earlier this year Microsoft revealed Skype would be integrated into their next-gen Xbox One console. The console will support Skype video calling using Kinect voice and gesture controls to execute onscreen actions.
The collection of communication data was executed using a program codenamed Prism, which purportedly collects information from Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple.

the government created the terrorist plots and then "foiled them" them to make it appear as though their police state infrastructure is needed for safety when in fact it is not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxR3ytbX2xU if you think i'm making this up watch this video as well. it's absolutely clear that these "terror plots" are both faked and sensationalized on tv for propaganda purposes for the sole purpose of the destruction of the bill of rights. the same eyewitness just happened to be at BOTH boston marathon and a seperate shooting in the city. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s89y7uE9u4Q another bunch of BULLSHIT is that "sandy hook shooting" - a bunch of lying sack of shit actors is what they all are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKWgCRBR5qEwe'll discuss this at further length (up close and personal) when we have you imprisoned in the gulags which you have built for us. but if you have done nothing wrong, then you'll be released after a few years, maybe. so don't worry about it if you have nothing to hide.if you have nothing to hide then dont even think about it.Â
