Well sorry for those I told to this to cause it was a lie apparently.

I was told last week that if you are on your second 360 you can get a free Kameo or PGR3 game well I was lied to it seems cause a younger girl on the phone today told me that it's in fact on your 4th repair which kind of makes me laugh.

A product that is suposed to be fine when you buy breaks and only on your fourth time can you get a free game? That makes no sense to me and is stupid IMO.

Ofcourse everyone knows Customer Service people vary from person to person. You may very well find someone like I did before you says 2nd repair? Here's something free so it's all in who you call and who you get and how demanding you are but the heads up is the apparent rule is 4th repair and free game.

I will still push for something if I am on my second god forbid.

I mean I was pissed at it happening once, if it happened a second I would be even more angry and then a third!???

And if I am on my third I still can't get something for free? I still think you should demand and complain for it like I will if it happens. Plus I think if they ship you back a console and it's broken on delivery you should infact get something cause that's just  insane

Im on my third one myself. I believe anything over one within a year is ridiculous anyways. I think the original xbox was constructed a ton better I never had an issue with it and I had one at launch.

They don't owe you anything, you chose to buy it. Same goes for the PS3, full of people who thinks its immune to breakdowns... *Anticipates a worldwide PS3 breakdown*

i took care of my 360, it broke twice on me.  i've had this replacement since march though and its been fine so im happy.

i took care of my 360, it broke twice on me.  i've had this replacement since march though and its been fine so im happy.

When my first one broke it was my fault...x.x. My crappy power strip,whatever their called,when out on its own while I was playing Gears,and from then on it would overheat after 5 minutes or less,so untill the box from Microsoft came I have to keep two fans blow on each side while it stood vertically.But ive had this one since March,no problems,unless if your 360 freezes somewhat occasionally is not normal.Because mine does.

I'm sorry for your loss, but it is no excuse to be mad at me, and I'm sorry if I came off in a rude or inappriopate way. All I was doing was trying to be one of the positives, because in this thread ONLY the guys who have the unfortuante break downs come in here. 10 million people did not have there's broken, that is all.

Again, I'm sorry if I came off in a bad way.

Well you act like just because you're one of the lucky ones who got his at launch and never had a problem then everyone that has had one is somehow responsible for it. And just because not all 10 million people had problems doesn't discount those who did unless you can break out some statistics to back up that statement, then you don't really know how many out of that 10 million did. This is the same crap that happened with the first Xbox. EXACTLY the same crap; faulty launch hardware. MS put out crappy hardware and the consumer had to suffer. So congratulations on yours never breaking. You just lucked out, or either it's coming soon. -K

I had the Xbox too and never had problems. Seeing as I'm an overweight nerd, with no girlfriend, a sucky job and just getting by rent by playing too much games, I'm thankful I do have a little luck. So good luck to you and your 360. I'm obviously sorry to those who had to go through the process of returning 360s.

You just have to be stern and serious with them. Tell them they've lost a costumer, things like that. I've had several friends get free games just for trying to cancel their live accounts, I'm sure you could persuade them to do the same for getting rid of the system entirely, if you were persuasive enough.

giving a free game to every single customer which 360 broke would be a pretty bad business move... Besides unless the Xbox 360 is actually faulty (something like under 1% chance I think because the only ones which did this were the 1st shipped) then it is your fault, I can't stress the urgency of keeping your power brick cool, it solves so much problems and is probably the core reason why people think their Xbox 360 is "broken"

  I'd be willing to bet you a ton of money that ps3's will not breaking down in large numbers.  The ps3 has been impeccable in the 5 months since its release.  360's were falling apart from day one and it has never stopped. Day after day more 360's breakdown and its only a matter of time before you "lucky ones" get your turn.

Well I have one, my brother has one, 2 friends have one. So 0 in 4 get it (in my life, obviously this is not worldwide statistics.)

I hope the numbers go down, because its alot of money and very annoying having to wait for something you paid for. Anywho, good luck to all current 360 owners.

  Less then 1% huh?  Wow your claim is actually lower then MS's.  Thats some major superfanboyism when you actually claim a lower number then the company that markets the unit....  BTW the power supply has S*** to do with most problems.  How does the power supply affect reading discs?  Scratching discs?  Not to mention when I can get mine to start up without 3 redlights it will run for 10 hours straight perfectly with no special treatment for the power supply.   The 3 redlights are most like cause by the crappy solder MS uses.  Which is why alot of people have gotten their system to work by reheating the solder with a heat gun or wrapping the 360 up in a towel for 20 minutes.

Isn't our fault our 360 didn't break yet. I have had problems, yes, many of them, especially when my 360 gives me a disk unreadable error the instant I finish a long quest in Oblivion and forgot to save at regular intervals. I seriously contemplated destroying the thing, saying a hurricane threw a tree branch through my window at 150 mph and annhilated it. Oh well, I didn't mean for my first post to sound mean, I was quite annoyed after I got done reading a few posts on the PS3 board created by people who think they are gods among mortals.

Not everyone's 360 breaks. Mine was manufactered October 2005. You know what? It still works fine.

Wow... when I worked at a call center none of the employee's cared about annoying customers and their threats. To the employee... your threats mean nothing.

Also,people need to remember to clean the ventalation holes in the powerbrick.In the back,after a while from sucking in air,dust builds up on the back and as more dust builds less air is getting into the powerbrick.:)Just whipe the back with your finger.

;)Im a teenager,im 16.Also,my powerstrip broke my 360...it wasnt kinda my fault that it broke.:shock:It was a freak accident.I think that 3-5% of 360's breaking is bull.You believe that if you want,but I dont think Microsoft enhanced their warranty because of Sonys PS3 warranty.If only a small amount of 360 are breaking too,then Microsoft should have no problem fixing this "small amount" of 360's.Right?

EDIT:Why would I cry to the Sony fans?

No you're right! 4 times? WTF? That's just stupid 2 times is pushing it. mine broke only once so far (knock on wood) and if a happen a 2nd time i would debate buying it back a 3rd time! i better get it for free! a 4th time! a 4th F***ING time i better get a Elite back or somthing cuz thats just wrong. and any one of you who thinks its stupid to be complaining on this subject. i got news for you, you're the idiot for defending a Corporation of all things.
