Jesus Christ. Thanks a lot microsoft. Thanks to you, I couldn't enjoy my Limited edition of Halo 3 (I asked for my dad to pick up the regular, but he got me the LE because I've been kicking ass in school lately (which is a new for me lolz)), and I had to take it BACK. Here's why: I hold the LE in my hands, feeling like a very lucky guy, and when I open one of the opener doors, *plop* my Halo 3 game disc comes falling down for no reason. Luckily I catch it before it falls, but only to find that the disc has been heavily scratched. Off to Target for another one....

I get to Target, explain everything (note: this is after having my LE for 15 mins before having to return it, so I didn't even get to play it or see the extras) and then the Target guy tells me I need the receipt. I give it to him, and he says he'll go get me another LE. He comes back (after waiting him for 10 minutes or so...) and says they have no more. I am a bit disappointed, but say that I'll just exchange it for the regular version. He says he can't because you can only exchange an item for the exact same item.

-_-

So then the managercomes over, and boy oh boy do we have a nice, long, half and hour discussion and debating upon the issue. While all of this is happenening, I see some customer standing next to me, and he asks "Hey are you here about the LE Halo 3 as-well?" I say yes, and he tells me how he had the same thing happen to him, and that they also wont give him a regular.

After being in their for more than an HOUR, the stupidmanager just says "Ok, how about we give you the regular, and refund you $10 back?"

I was about to tear her head off, but just nodded, and got the game....

And earlier today, I was on the 3 or 4 mission, completed after playing for an hour or more, the cut-scene ends, and then the "Error the disk cannot be read" comes up. I pray to god it saved my progress but nope, I have to start all over.

really, this all comes down to how the games/boxes etc have been handled. I got both the regular and the LE (for the boy) and I got them to open it in the store and there wasnt a thing out of place, hell it even had a big foam block so the disc couldnt slip off.

haha...thats kind of a funny story. I get why you are mad but sometimes those corporate types can't see past their own noses. The scratched Halo 3 LEs is pretty well documented here on the internet and Microsoft has promised to replace the discs. It was something about the manufacturing process. Anyway, I'm glad you got it sorted out and the story gave me a lil chuckle (when i was in high school I worked for that hell hole)

Yes Halo's save system is practically worse than Dead Rising. Almost the same thing happened to me. I left the halo 3 game and went to the dashboard and later came back to see that I had to start over again. Its not an auto-save system like Bioshock, so it is very annoying.

I hope you learned you lesson though!!! Never shop at Target or Wal-Mart for that matter. Horrible customer service.

Best Buy knew about the Limited Edition fault over a week before launch. So we told our customers. If they had scratched discs, we gave them a new copy of Halo 3 no questions asked. We want our customers to be enjoy their products and to buy with confidence.

start - save & quit..

its really not that difficult or a u realying on the auto save for check points? coz thats for only when u die during the game, not to reload from....

and its no where near as bad as dead rising. Dead rising was a pain in the ass but it system worked well for how they designed the game to play.

I don't know why everyone's complaining about that. I got the LE version too, and yes, my disc is scratched, but mine plays fine. So does my friend's copy.

Look on the bright side, that manager at Target is probably only making $10 an hour, lol.
