Hideo Kojima has already stated numerous times that MGS4 will be a PS3 only title. He wants to end Solid Snake's story with this game on a Playstation console since that's where the MGS series started. Yes, Metal Gear itself started years ago on the MSX in Japan but Metal Gear Solid is essentially the 2nd part to a greater story. Kojima hates cross platform titles. He's an artist and believes that when you put a game on multiple consoles it takes away from the games heart and soul. He did say that he wants to create other properties on other systems and even hinted that OTHER Metal Gear games could be made on other systems but, like MGS4, these other games would only be on one system or another. Despite Konami's wishes to see more games go cross platform, the decision is ultimately up to Kojima himself since it is his own development studio that is making this game.
Devil May Cry 4 going cross platform is not a surprise. Capcom is notorious for playing all sides of the field. They did it when they put most of their resources into developing for Sony as opposed to Nintendo who was originally their business bunk mate. Then they did another 180 by developing Resident Evil 4 for Gamecube and then did yet ANOTHER switch up and ported it to the Playstation 2. They tried bringing Onimusha to X-Box but the remastered version of the original flopped and they never went back. They stuck with PS2. So, with Capcom constantly bouncing back and forth between their "favorites" it's no surprise that this happened. I have heard, albeit from unreliable yet unbiased personal sources, that DMC4 for PS3 and 360 will be different. Not dramatically different, but that PS3 would sport better visuals, sounds, and additional content thanks to the power of the PS3 and the capabilities of Blu-Ray. Essentially, that DMC4 for 360 would be a "lesser" version of the same game. Whether or not this is true will have to wait until more information about the game itself is released.
Debunking another fanboy favorite topic, Final Fantasy XIII will not go to the 360. Square Enix has said that the mainstream FF series (the numbered ones) will stay as PS3 titles but that other properties based on Final Fantasy could go to other systems. It should be noted that despite the fact of FFXI being a "numbered" FF game Square considers it an online offshoot and already has a bad taste in their mouth regarding Microsoft since FF Online bombed for the 360 and Mistwalker Studios, the new development house made by the creator of Final Fantasy, took a good deal of Square Enix employees and jumped in bed with Microsoft. SE is more likely to work with Nintendo at this point than Microsoft.
Before anyone tries to flame my reply as being a "Sony Fanboy" I will let you all know that I do not own a PS3 or a Wii. I own a 360. I am unbiased. I look at facts and not wishful thinking. Microsoft has gained some amazing ground but if you think Sony is already beaten then you're a fool. To believe that the loss of a couple franchises as exclusives will kill that company is non-sense.
