I'm not sure this is the right forum for this but...

This problem just started yesterday. I've had Xbox Live for over 2 years now though. I try the test and it fails every time. I've read and done article 908882 many times, but it still fails. I called up customer support and that did no good either. My router is a Linksys WRT54GS and my modem is a Comcast TM502G/CT. I have also tried power cycling for 30 minutes, and no good.

Any Ideas?

Calm down, it's not your routers, it's xbox live, they planned downtime on september 29th for 24 hours for the new dashboard update, it just happens to fail at MTU, not at xbox live. (happened to me too), (sorry I could have posted this sooner but I refreshed and copy/paste doesn't work on these forums.)

You'd think everyone would naturally connect the two events together ... but nooo.

And, the dashboard is coming out later this fall, this update is just to prepare for it. (Strange how it fails at MTU isn't it?)

And I was looking forward to GRAW....

Well there's always tomor........ oh wait, tomorrow's Rosh Hashanah......

I agree all the way, but even though I knew it was down, I was a little confused of it failing at MTU, and the fact that my computer and my xbox 360 are having IP address problems ever since my power went out..... and I'm too lazy to fix it...

Umm... Can people stop reviving old Xbox Live problem threads just to get attention on the situation at hand, look at the date of when this was first posted, July 31st, completely different situation on what is going on now.

For those that don't know, September 29th downtime is due to server maintenance and prep for the New Xbox Experience, and will be down from 12am pacific Monday to about 12am pacific Tuesday morning "AT THE LEAST".

So in other words no Live Monday Sept 29th.
