Do you mean your headset? Sound doesn't come out of microphones.

Are you trying to annoy them or something? If so I'm not answering it.

Just put the mic up to the speakers that the music is coming out of. I wouldn't recommend this anyway, unless you're with a group of friends that don't mind. Which is almost never.

I hate when I can hear other people's music over the headset. But I did find it funny once. I was playing Gears and some guy had MC Hammer's "Can't Touch This" blasting over and over. It made me and my squadmates laugh.

Don't play music through the mic. It sounds terrible and is just annoying. No one wants to hear it.

I also want to be able to play music clearly over xbox live wile im taking out the compotition. i was thinking a male to male headphone adapter that has one brought down to the size of a ipod nano. so one end goes into the music player and the other fits into the xbox controler jack. i havent tride it yet. if theres another way to play clear music someone post it on this sight.

Thats another thing that gets you instantly muted and a bit of negative feedback also. Along with screaming, singing, or cussing every other word in the mic.

i just tryed the headphone jack trick with two male adpaters one sized to 3/32. my friends say its alittle better than holding the mic to the speakers, but not much. so im guessing that it has nothing to do with the mics poor pick up quality. but with the intire system from going through the controler. if a direct connection the the music sorce doesn't make it sound better nothing will.

u cant play clear music because the voice chat uses such a low bit rate its only suitable for talking. thats why when u put tunes near the mic it comes out totally distorted and u cant understand what even type of music it is. because the sound qualitys so low to keep bandwidth down and keep lag to minimum. but u will never get music playing down it properly coz its not possible on a bitrate that low. u can see this is the case. coz the pickup on the mics is fine. but if u record urself on a mic on the pc at full quality then record a message saying the same thing on ur xbox and listen and the bit rate will make ur voice sound different and less clear. its coz they dont use a full quality, just enough for u to be able to understand talking. thats why everyones voices sound different they use a low quality for the voice chat so everyones xboxs dont use as much internet upload and download speed. this saves ur connection for playing the game anyways playing muffled music down the voice is the worst crack ever. always sound horrible, wudnt be so bad if it was clear but u cant so just give up mate coz they no way to fix the bit rate its set by microsoft. the pad and mic can do better quality but microsoft uses lower quality audio streams to save caining off ur connection from the game ur playing as the games more important than sound quality

that makes sence because even a direct contection to the controler bypasing the mic all together also sounds crapy. i havent thought about the bit rate.

yeah its definetally the case mate. maybe by the next computers they will have better bit rates when everyones got faster bandwidth speeds. but u must have a bad rep if u blast tunes on a reg basis. u checked out ur rep if u do it all the time

There is a way to play CLEAR music through your mic, if you aren't using the cheap $15 headset that came with the Xbox your headset should have a place with a green and pic jack. If you use the green like it tells you and you plug the pink one into your IPod or MP3 player and it will you play the music but you can't talk while it plays but it is clear. I hope this helped. If you have any questions just message me on Xbox: E4tMoarChiken

Just put the music next to the mic and you're good..
