MW2 - AC130 vs Chopper Gunner

Which do you think is better to use? I think I prefer the AC130 as it's harder to shoot down.

While I'm a firm believer that the Chopper Gunner is better than the AC-130 in almost all situations I use the AC-130 because it seems more intimidating. Hearing "ENEMY AC-130 APPROACHING!" like it's the end of the world and the sound that the shells make as they come hurtling towards your face make it more satisfying for me than the Chopper Gunner.

In real life the AC130 is more reliable, it has a combat history dating back to vietnam its known for its impressive accuracy and the game does a great job of replicating the devastating damage it brings, You seem to get shot down more with the Chopper Gunner.

The Chopper Gunner is a beast. It can literally destroy an entire team, especially on a map like Wasteland or Rundown.

No, they just made a bad game.

Chopper Gunner can kill anyone in a building, as long as there's a window or an opening within 20 feet, the massive aim assists gets you the kill.

CG is ridiculous, Why did they patch the AC-130? When MW2 first came out you didn't need to reload the AC-130, only the 105mm. Now you can only shoot around 5 shots with the 40mm and then you have to reload, it's a complete waste of a killstreak and is better suitable for 3 kill streak.

It's harder to shoot down but that's because it doesn't do anything, only time I've ever seen someone do damage with an AC130 was the infinite ammo rooms, where you could just spam 105mm.

I don't get it, you get 5 custom classes and nobody uses one of them for an anti-air. A lot of people have prestiged, so that more than 5 classes (I believe you get an extra one for every level you prestige) It's very simple. You die by a chopper gunner, switch your class to the anti air, problem solved. Instead people just ignore it and hope they don't get shot.

That's why I stopped playing the game for, people are just too incredibly stupid. People cry about them being OP, air support is so useless against anyone with a brain.

Chopper gunner is better in the game but I like using the AC130 more cause it's more fun...I have to admit chopper gunner is ridiculously overpowered, it got me a 38 kill streak on afghan because my helicopter hovered in place over the enemy spawn point, true story.

I LOVE me the chopper gunner. Thanks to that sexy beast, it upped my killstreak to 53...

Partially because the enemy team was being pretty dumb on wasteland...

i only use the ac-130 but judging from what everyone says im going to start using chopper gunner more often....but hearing "enemy Ac-130 approaching" is much scarier than hearing "enemy apache inbound"

I've never said I had godlike skills, I only say I like to play games that require skill. If you guys can't comprehend what that means, that's not my fault so there's no reason to resort to insults and personal attacks. No, but you strongly imply it by saying that everybody else sucks and is lazy and that you can get 25 killstreaks at will and whatever else.

Truth is, we're not stupid, man. In fact, we're *so* not stupid, that we can see right through your argument and see that not only are you trying to brag about how great you are, but you are also exaggerating how 'easy' MW2 is, because if it was as easy as you say and required no skill, then everybody would be equally good, which simply isn't the case.

Anyways, on-topic, I tend to get more kills with the Chopper Gunner, but I have more fun with the AC-130(not that its not super-deadly itself).

The problem with chopper gunner is that it will get shoot down really quick, so i say AC130.

Also, if you're one of the people who cry about air support being OP but then sit there and do nothing about it, then yes, you are stupid and lazy. I'm not going to take back what I said because it's true, there's no way around that. Usually what intelligent people do when they have a problem with something, is to try and find a solution, not try to avoid it.

I've also never told anyone they suck. In fact, I clearly remember posting that I don't judge people based off of skill because not everyone takes competitive multiplayer seriously. What I do judge is the intelligence, or lack of, of people. You don't need to be a 1337 gamer to do something simple such as shooting down a Chopper Gunner or a Pavelow.

You can go through my post history if you want and try to find a post of me saying someone sucks or how my skills are godlike, or even imply it. On average I get more kills with the chopper gunner than the ac-130 except when you get those people who manage to shoot down your chopper before it even gets to the combat zone. I love it when the enemy team is full up with idiots who don't even try and shoot it down though.

Yes I know what post you're talking about but that doesn't mean my skills are godlike or that I'm bragging about it.

Getting a nuke isn't hard, a Harrier and Chopper Gunner gets you 20 kills easily because nobody ever shoots them down and nobody even uses Cold Blooded, so everyone has a huge red box surrounding them.

The point I was trying to make was how the game is incredibly easy if you camp because all the perks and killstreaks make the game so easy, which I believe the guy said was harder to do in MW2 than it was in COD4. I made that post to prove him wrong, not to brag about my skills.

IMHO i think the chopper gunner is better simply because it has aim assist and moves around clearing up targets behind buildings.

but the AC-130 is just as good since it takes more rockets to be shot down, and cant get hurt by enemy gun fire. And theres that delay after you fire your shots making more skill with the gun necessary.
