MW2 Stimulus Package won't launch!

yeah its happening with everybody i think because they are trying to do so much at once.

If you're an Xbox Live player on Modern Warfare 2, there are some big updates hitting tomorrow (March 30th) in the early morning. Included in those are:

The Stimulus Package (Downloadable Content)

The first dlc for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer hits exclusively first on Xbox Live. It'll be coming to other platforms at a later date as well, but tomorrow morning you'll be able to download the 5 new maps including Bailout (seen above), Salvage, Storm, and my favorite classic maps Crash and Overgrown.

Double XP

Originally planned to do it this weekend, but we've decided to throw the Double XP switch early when the new maps hit. So jump online with the new DLC and check out the two new DLC specific playlists.

Stimulus and Hardcore Stimulus Playlists

These two playlists are 100% dedicated to the new maps, and are Double XP enabled. So jump on and experienced the new DLC you downloaded, get double XP, and experience all your favorite gametypes along with some hardcore variants of them.

Ranger maps added to HCHQ

We're adding a few maps to the Hardcore Headquarters Pro playlist on Xbox Live, allowing you now play all the Ranger maps in this gametype, something I know a lot of users have been asking for! These maps include Highrise, Invasion, Skidrow, and Terminal.

Title Update

Along side the DLC, but something ALL of our users will get, is a title update for Modern Warfare 2. Included in this update is support for the DLC (if you choose to purchase it), as well as some tweaks to the One Man Army perk, some matchmaking updates that will help our international users find more locally hosted games thanks to how ping is now sorted, and various other code updates that will help improve the overall quality of multiplayer on Modern Warfare 2.

There is no exact time you can expect all this, I'd say early morning when traffic is at its lowest, but by the time you wake up and get online I'm sure it will be available to most of you on March 30th! See you online all this week!

Yey Micrsoft hasn't relased the patch yet. I wouldn't expect to see it till 9-10 PST

Your crippling case of "mapathy" can finally be treated, dear Modern Warfare 2 player. Just a few minutes ago, the "Stimulus Package" DLC bundle, which includes three new multiplayer maps and two tarted-up arenas from Call of Duty 4, wentlive on Xbox 360. At $15, it's a pretty pricey prescription for your blues, but it might just be the only option you've got. Curse you, pharmaceutical empire!

Unfortunately, it seems the launch of the new maps was botched -- we've received a number of tips claiming the maps aren't loading in-game. Major Nelson recently Tweeted that the game needs a title update in order to incorporate the new content, which he says is coming soon. We'll let you know when everything's in working order.

I bet all those PS3 people are laughing at the EXCLUSIVE XBox map pack. Nothing but hassles and headaches. Game sucks balls with hacks and tenth prestige unlock all lobbies. Can't even get the map pack right. Thanks Infinity Ward for making this the last game of yours I ever purchase. (I wish i had God of War)

lol true...its funny cuz i dnt get how people on ps3 can laugh...this isnt an exclusive xbox map pack..its just released to xbox users b4 ps3 and pc users..so im tryin to see who is really laughin

those arent really maps..they just unlock modes for those certain maps....i have battlefield bc2 and i like it..but they dnt have any new maps comin out soon so yeah

My tower is botched cause of no IP address and now the servers are being attacked with updates and fixes..hey at least modern warfare is doing ok :D

My God I'm so sick of everyone turning every thread about MW2 into how bad of a game it is. Sure it has its flaws, but what game doesnt? Unbalanced? i dont really see it. I place in teh top three or so whether im sniping or using an assult rifle. if idont, its becuase people are better than me. So the map pack costs $15. so thats a couple of mcdonals dinners or whatever that you cant have now.

as for the BF2 references that inevitably come up in every MW2 thread and vice versa: big deal. each game game is a good one, but are not the same games. they appeal to different players. Get over it. if you like it more than MW2, then go play it. if you hate BF2 and like MW2, then go play it. noone needs to come onto every thread about either of them and bash the other. grow up

I thoughtit was only mw2... but even Castle crashers,nhl10,TMNT RS wont work.. its not mw2 who's the problem its xbox live try andyou'llsee

For now the only thing you can do is a Private match alone... your still gonna be able toplay in the maps Try it it works

What are they tweaking on the one man army perk?

i agree. both are good games

I agree as well - in fact the one thing I like about BFBC 2 over MW2 is the matches last a lot longer. Wish IW would raise the point limit on the TDM (hardcore obviously) to at least 10,000 and extend the time limit as well.

But it is better. BC2 is playable, while MW2 is not.
