Is it normal for your 360 to occasionally freeze? When im playing a game it'll do it maybe once ever week, but when i play demos it does this alot. Is this normal?

Mine has never froze. I've seen my brothers freeze a few times. Check and make sure you have plenty of ventilation going to your 360

Unfortunately, you could say that it is normal because of the high failure rate of the 360. So normal isn't a good thing in this case. Just warning you now that a 360 that regularly freezes will most likely lead to the RRoD and you will have to send it in.

Umm no, its not normal for the 360 to freeze up....be prepared for the RROD soon. Good luck, I'm on my 4th xbox.

Mine has froze atleast once but that was like for 3 seconds and went back to normal.

Mine has frozen about 4 or 5 times. One of the times I was able to get back to the Xbox menu, the other couple times I had to actually get up and shut the console off. Still works though, and RROD free for over a year.

Fifa 08 freezes at the same spot for me, right before I start a game. I happens from time to time but I don't think it's the 360 since other games haven't froze.

It's not normal. My old one froze whenever playing Halo 2 and only once with Oblivion except for this glitch that occurred everytime I did this specific side quest. It froze everytime with that but other than that, only once at random.

DISC read errors are normal, but freezng no, im on my 4th box the RED RINGS OF SATAN ARE CLOSING UPON YOU RUNNNNN!!!

idk make sure aleast the back of the 360 is not up close to a wall move little alway from it might help

I've had a screen freeze a total of four times. They all occurred while playing Oblivion so it could be due to that games general bugginess. I think you may be having hardware issues. I must be doing something wrong because my original 360 (12/5/05 purchase date) is still going strong. I figure my RROD will come around on 12/6/08 :P

I read a forum on another page where a person indicated that there may be ventilation issues for the Xbox 360 that can be exacerbated by having the power unit (the power cord thing that lights up btw yellow and green) too close to the 360 itself.

Hopefully you can alleviate some problems by moving the power unit.

it's frozen for me maybe once or twice but on classic Xbox games like mercenaries or Halo 1 they freeze a lot. If I don't save often, I'm screwed

my 360 froze every time when I pushed the A button in the Forza2 titlescreen. turned out to be a corrupted update Ive downloaded for the game.

mine has only froze when i was logging into the COD4 servers. network problems have locked mine up...i only had to restart it once

mine froze twice since i got it two thursdays ago.... it hasnt frozen in about a week though.... my power cord is right next to the console so i think ill move it, if i do get rrod what do i do? im a fairly new 360 owner

I would try updating your console through xbox live. That might fix the problem. It did it for me and it never froze again.

the only game my 360 lags on is Lost Odyssey and sumtimes freezes for a second or two

My Original 360 is still going strong (2 years now) and no RROD ( I probably just jinxed myself).

Anyway, my 360 used to freeze up all the time in Oblivion as well as most other games I played. It would literally freeze up at least once a day. It didn't matter if I was playing a disc, arcade game, video, or browsing the dashboard. I moved it sideways and put the power brick on another shelf in my entertainment center and haven't really had a problem for quite some time (over a year). Maybe yours just needs ventilation and such?
