My 360 is freezing alot lately, should I be worried?

Much more often than usual. Is this a pre-symptom of 3-red rings? I can't be sure if it's the game... but I doubt it since I haven't heard much about Mass Effect (the game I've been playing lately) freezes. Anyone have any ideas?

id be worried.......mine kept freezing alot n then within a few weeks the red rings of death came :(

yea, that happened to me for a few weeks right before the RROD n my first 2 360's. Sorry dude, your xbox is dying.

Yep, same thing happened to me with my second 360. Screen freezes with white and red transparent squares all over the screen. A few days later....RROD!! Dum..Dum...Duuuuumm.

oohhh and yeah just for the record mine started freezing up on me when i was playing mass effect a lot too. i don't think it's entirely the game's fault, but it does require a lot of the 360's power. i think mass effect is partly responsible, but really if the 360 breaks, it was going to break regardless. mass effect just speeded up the process.

Man, that same thing happened to me. It was like a checkerboard.

When mine started freezing, the laser eye went bad and all disks were unreadable.

It isn't Mass Effect. It is a pre-symptom for RRoD. Sorry amigo. On the plus side, it is only a pre-symptom. You may not actually get the hardware failure for a couple of months, but it's more than likely coming.

constant freezes is the first step to getting RROD so either dont play too much in a week, keep your 360 well ventilated or just wait till it breaks then send it in to microsoft

It normally starts freezing out a lot as a RRoD syndrome. Check that is getting proper ventilation and is out of a dust area though, as maybe that might have some influence, but I would be prepared for the worst.

mine freezes every now and then. i only have 3 games, and its only happened on 1 of them several times, and 1 of them once. any time its frozen its frozen online, never in single player even tho i basically play online only. so its hard to tell if its a problem with my xbox or if its just freezing bc of an online problem. hardly ever does, maybe once or twice a week or sometimes not at all. either way, it worries the crap out of me. just hope if it does break, i get it replaced for free. otherwise ill be really mad. just got mine too

Mine has only frozen in single player games. Game just stops, usually at a point when it's loading a new level or something and only happens when I've been playing for many hours. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yeah my 360 kept freezing and after days of constant freezing when i turned it on i got the RRoD.

if it dies just buy a ps 3 like i did? i guess thats an easy answer if you dont own like 14 xbox 360 games.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've still got my fingers crossed. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty with my 360. So if it breaks in the next 6 months, I can get a same-day replacement, free of charge.:D

for me what happened is I was playing oblivion then i saved the game and paused it to take a dump(LOL) when i came back it was frozen so i thought it was no big deal. When i restarted it it kept on freezing at the intro logo and the BAM the RROD hit me.
