My 360 just got the red rings of death. I mean #$%^ a day before Halo 3. I just botted it up and loaded CoD 4 Beta and it froze while loading the map so I rebooted and then the rings hit. Ive told microsoft and I got the email with packaging instructions. But $%^& when do you think I will get it back?
5 weeks to u get it back :( id call pissed off and demand a new xbox overnighted, see if that works if not, id send it in, go out buy a new xbox, then return it with like the 60 day policy or whatever, me personally, WOULD NOT miss halo 3, but its your call
this happen to me, when the halo 3 beta, first we couldn't play (crackdown), than once It finaly worked my live account was jacked up, I couldn't sign in for 4 days go M$.

i know how you feel. i had the same problem, but instead with the halo3 beta.it broke a day before it came:(i was furious but it only took three weeks for me in canada but i got a new console instead of a refurb so i was happy about that. all i can say is justtough it out.
Here is where microsoft couldnt compare to nintendo and sony, they dont know how to make a reliable console. The 360 is the only console I've ever heard of doing so many messed up things. Rings of death and over-heating. I would just wait for them to fix it, seriously halo 3 can wait, step back and take a breath, microsofts advirtising blitz has effected you into believing if you dont own this game your missing out on something amazing. its a game, think rationally. Unless your loaded with money then buy a new system, elites are pretty ;)
