I got mine on Thursday, I've been playing like 15 hours at a time and then giving it a break for like 2 hours.

I'm going to get the cooler attachment for the back though so I wont have too :D.

Keep it well ventilated, both the console and the power brick. Connect the brick directly to a wall socket.. If you follow these golden rules you will most certainly never encounter problems..

Got mine last Friday and it's been on most of the day, everyday. The air behind the 360 is pretty warm but my power brick feels quite cool. The power brick is sitting on top of my desk, not underneath to prevent any potential problems.

I also heard about connecting the power prick through a surge protector, was bad. I read through all the manuals on Friday but I can't remember actually reading anything about connecting to one, or through an extension strip. Mine is through an extension strip at the moment. Is this not recommended?

Listen to him, he's right.  The cooler is a piece of garbage and will only do more damage than good.

I´ve had my 360 since launch, and it's been dying on me the last two weeks...i can play like 15 minutes and then stops working....i've had fun times with my 360 but i hate to say it,its a damn rushed console...having to worry about it turning itself of all the time is just s*it....

I have to disagree with your statment of the intercooler being trash.  I have been using one for the last 5 months and I have noticed changed in how much my xbox heats up.  So I do recommend and whats this about it voiding the warranty?  it attaches to the back of your xbox by two prongs, so how would anyone know?

I have left mine on for over 10 hours and never had a problem  I leave mine vertical and in a well ventilated place.
