I think the other one is Hitachi. Mine is Samsung and is veeeryy loud, can't wait til I can drown it out with a nice 5.1 setupRebornInFlames

Yeah mine is the Samsung too, so were the drives on my first two 360's but this new 360 I have is really loud in comparison to my first two. Even when there is no disc in the drive. Could it be the fan? When I actually do put a disc in there it only adds to it but I think the fan is whats super loud. I already have a 600 watt 5.1 setup and it doesnt drown it out, one reason is that I can't go too lud since I live in a 2 family house but still. I swear it sounds like a 747 about to take off and I am nervous the thing is going to explode. Im really dissapointed or maybe the fan on this one is actually working unlike my first two which is why they crapped out. Who knows!
Wrongo!! Xbox360 has three disc drives! I had my xbox360 replaced and they gave me a brand new one with a better disc tray
1: The old disc tray-Loud
2: Samsung- Its black
3: Looks like the old one but has no little holes in it and the disc tray is not loose and it doesnt make as much noise

There are two different disc drives they use for the 360. I know one is Samsung, but I can't remember the other one. Anyway, the one that isn't Samsung is supposed to be louder.gp19there are 3 drives for the xbox 360 original one , hitachi, then samsung and the last one is from phillips. samsung and phillips are the only 2 good drives for it hitachi just blows..big time.
So I made a mistake, my new (3rd) 360 actually has the Hitachi Drive, which is why it is louder then my first two. So now does this mean that I have an older system? I have read some conflicting views but it sounds like the hitachi is a more reliable drive, just much louder. Any thoughts?Link_360I have the Hitachi one and i dont think its that loud..
