My 3rd mic broke, and I shouldn't have to pay for a new one

Exactly. I've had the same piece of crap mic that I got a year ago with my 360 and it works fine. Why don't you try taking care of it this time.

Also on my 3rd WIRELESS MIC. Dont get me started on how many wired i had. MS makes cheap things.

When your done playing ur xbox dont just let the mic fall into the floor, just carefully set it somehere.

i went through 4 , 1 still works just no head band have to use other head set to hold in place 19 pieces of garbage !

I have a launch headset that still works fine, I don't really use it since I like my new black one better, but I have 3 headsets that all work fine, one for 4 years one for 2 years and one for about a week.

Here is what I know, Microsoft makes unreliable stuff. I am on my 4th 360. The first I had an intercooler blow up on (okay not MS fault), 2nd Red Ring, 3rd Red Ring, 4th is having bad disc drive problems and crashes every hour or so. I have one controller that won't let register a mic at all. You can plug it in but it refuses to admit it's there. I had one headset go bad, just plain old quit working. And I take excellent care of my things. I have a shelf just for controllers and stuff that I am using at the time.

My friend just had his 360 red ring, sent it to MS, they sent him a new Xbox that has a faulty drive that opens on it's own every half hour. Now he has to send it back again and wait for it... again.

The people ripping on you must not know the Xbox track record before telling you that you aren't taking care of your things. Yeah you should get a coupon, but you won't.

i had two wired ones that both rarely work and usually i can hear without anyone hearing me, i had those since launch.

i got a wireless one last xmas it works great but the batterry sure is bad

I have 4 mics; only one of them is half broken, which is the mic that came with my launch console. The mic on it works, but the speaker on the headset doesn't. The reason I have so many is because they are always packaged with something. The rest of them work perfectly. How do you guys treat the headsets?

The wired mic I have is over 2 years old. Take better care of your stuff and you might not break as many mics.

^ What did you do to your broken mic? I bought PSP one time that had about 10 bad pixels in it. A rear audio jack on my television was broken the day I bought it. My DVD burner broke in my new computer 2 weeks after it was out of warranty. How is totally inconceivable or due to mistreatment that he could buy 3 headsets and have them all break? billyd5301

I always hear about how Crappy the Mics are but I don't get it.

Im still on my 1st Mic from Launch Day for the 360 and it works 100% crystal Clear and I play Online quite a lot.

I'm on my 4th wired that is currently half-broken. My 3rd wireless that is also half-broken. Not going to replace until they fail completely.

Still failing to see how you can accuse someone of mistreatment when it's just a law of odds. Some people have won 3 lottery tickets in a row. It's rare, but it still happens to someone. These headsets still do have headphone jacks and on/off switches that can easily be bad. billyd5301

Well, basically, the voice on my mic doesn't work, but I can still hear fine. It's probably because of the terrible plug design on the new one. Btw, is their any other brand that makes headsets for a cheaper price, because If I buy a MS mic, I'm paying $5 for the mic, $15 for the brand.

I think there may be a difference between what some people consider "taking good care" of something and actually taking good care of something. You see this a lot with peoples game disks getting scratched up to the point where they don't even work anymore. The xbox mics are fragile and you have to be very careful with them.

TC is right, the mics are built like crap. I have had 2 mics just stop working. The 3rd one works half the time.

To go through 3 mics, you must be mishandling them. I've had the same mic for almost 2 years, and never had any problems with it. I doubt there was a fault with all 3 mics or anything like that, as it would be highly unlikely.

I'm on my third! They break so easily!!! Two of my friends bought the wireless ones because they're wired ones broke... then the wireless ones broke on them too!

maybe they'll give me a couple of old mics, and a small coupon. Btw my mic is working much better now.
