iv had mine since march 2006 AUS LAUNCCH DAY and still working perfect:) And i wont it to die so i get the new chip ect put in, plus the time it takes to send away i will just play on my other 360 which hasnt been used yet so i win both ways:D
I don't want to be the downer of the thread, but my XBox broke earlier today. I ordered the box for it and everything. Then, I said,"Hey, what the hell. I'll plug it back in and see if it works." What do you know? My Xbox came back to life. It was like watching one of those medical shows where the person dies for a few minutes and then comes back to life. I was so relieved. At least I'll have a box incase it breaks again.
Don't worry man, you'll get a refurb. And as far as not affording repair... it's free.
Lol, well, ive had mine since launch also, and ive had it on a ''vintelator'' as i call it (intercooler an 2 fans setting behind those) because i had been gettin 2 red lights about 3-4 months ago, but it had been fine till 2night. I was gettin ready 2 getonline and woop my buddy at some halo.....and there it was.....i cried.....i had thoughts of scuicide, but jessus saved me, and now im here to tell my story, hahaha.
My, very well take taken care of xbox, also broke yesterday afternoon. Called xbox could barely understand the lady giving me customer service but I THINK they are sending me the coffin er...box to send it back in. I was naive enough to think it was the consumer's fault all this time...I think 100% of xbox's are faulty it's just a matter of time when.

join the club.expect your 360 back in about 1 month. it takes one FULL week to receive the box, then another FULL week for them to receive it. one week of them just staring at it before picking up a refurbished box and shipping it out, One week until you get it, and hopefully it works.
when i received my 1st repaired 360, it was DOA. turned on and after 30 secs. froze up. GREAT!!!! I wait for a month and receive a BROKEN BOX. THANKS MS! after waiting another month I received one that *GASP* WORKS!! yes i am shocked as well.... we'll see how well it holds up.its been 3 weeks now and no problems.................YET
