9 out of the 10 times when I put in a 360 game in my 360 it gives me a white screen with the same line in multible languages. It's saying something about it being a DVD player and not capable of playing 360 games. It's probably the same message it would get on an actual DVD player.

Has anyone else experienced this? It can get annoying but up to 10 minutes of opening the tray and closing it I can eventually make it read the disc. I see a lot of topics about disc read errors but this is different, how many others have experienced this?

I've only had this problem with one disc, getting the message "Please put this in an xbox 360 console" or something like that.

Once the disc was in, pushing on the edge of the drive tray managed to get it to load a couple of times, but after that it just wasn't worth the hassle and I returned the disc. It's something to do with it spinning at a certain speed to load, and if it fails that check the game wont load. If it happens to you with lots of games, and ones which have worked reliably before, then its probably your DVD drive failing.

nah but my 360 usually doesnt want to turn on and it takes a couple of tries to get it on and then sometimes i get the red light in the bottom right corner that makes me shut it off. and to top it all off the disc tray sometimes opens up during gameplay and sending me back to the marketplace. but i still love it

No, I wasnt dumb enough to buy that, neither will I get the Blu-Ray. Within a year there might be something better then Blu-Ray that could become the standard in a couple of years.

It's just the 360 that gives me the exact same message as a DVD player (I tried it out on a friend's DVD player). It's not the 360 guide that pop-ups but a white screen with the same line in various languages. THe other guy had the same problem and I'll probably will call MS aswell when its a dry period for gaming. Probably in 2009 since 2008 is fully booked :)
