I have had my 360 since launch, and it is still ticking. I am not sure what to say for this with so many people having the red ring of death. I am lucky I guess to say the least. Tell you story of the IMMORTAL CONSOLE, formally known as the 360. I think the secret is not turning it off much. If you think, it is like a computer, and most computers just go into stand by. I also used a Monster power surge protecter on my console. I did try using it without once and it screwed up for like a day. Now it is good as new.
I got mines at launch and still working. Although I've been tempted to buy the Elite, I'm sticking with this one because it's working this well for this long.

Mine is a resold store display model, which is curently hooked up to a monster surge protector/battery supply. I stoped using it for a computer I never use, so I use it for my TV and game consoles.
Stupid thread, most peoples have. You hear more about broken ones because more people complain and other consoles fanboys make up that they had one that broke.
my xbox products are the longest lasting ones my xbox still is going strong and my 360 is doing perfect but me and sony dont mix i got a ps1 and had to replace it two times and my ps2 broke 3 times and it got fixed and its still in a bad shape
i didnt get a launch console but mine was still ticking before i sold it and got an elite. boy was that a mistake. im not sure if it gears or if its my hd dvd drive but it keeps freezing. i am this close to giving up on it but ill hold on till it rrods on me then me thinks the 360 wasnt meant to be. but i have to admitthe 360 experience has been one of my best since i started gaming
Mines not realy a Launch councle but i got it in december the year it came out. Have had no problems at all and I realy think im not going to and if I do then well s*** happens i guess. Ile just send it in and get a good one. : )

Same, I kept on going to the store the year it came out and all they had was cores so i just gave up and bought a core and got a hard drive, mic, and wirless controler and it works just fine to this day.

I used to say the same thing. Mine was manufactured 12/24/05 and it ran problem free for a year and half. Now it's in Texas being molested by MS's repair techs! So, here's a curse to your 360 for thinking it's special! BOOMSHAKALKA RROD RROD RROD RROD BOOMSHAKALAKA! :P j/k
Didnt get it at launch but I've had it 4 almost 4 yrs now and its still running great. I did however get the red rings once, not too long ago, but i let it sit for a weekend and went right back to playing it like normal.
Mine died 7 months later, but in relation to this story my launch day PS2 runs great. I don't know what is the bigger feat.Chirico_Cuvie
My n64 that is still kicking. My SNES probably would be too but I threw put it in the garage and dust got into it and everything. I don't think it works now.

15 months and still going strong... though i did modify the coolers a bit, but o well, doesnt matter if i play 2 hours or ten hours it has never given me a problem =D, i guess im one of the chosen ones lol, i hope mine keeps going strong!!
I thought my launch system was broken (E74 error) so I gave it to a friend and bought a new one. He just bought some 3rd party AV cables and now it works.
Mine is still living. No trouble with it. Nor my Elite. But i guess when you got insurance, your 360 simply will not die. Becouse then i cant go to the store and get a new one.... :(
Have had mine since November 22, 2005, and its still going. This was my first ever console I bought launch day, and I have been a proud owner ever since.

same here they only had core systems left on launchday (premiums were all pre-ordered out). mine died once though:(
First, I love360 gaming. But you should really just count yourselves luckybecause I have a 360 for myself and one for my son. Each one died about 6 months after I got them (dreaded ring of death) and my son's actually had it happen twice. I got my unit at launch and his the following summer. The first instance Microsoft just replaced his unit; the second time they repaired it.
