idk all i can say is go to the games section on xbox live go to games then all games and look for the optional media update thats what you need to make ipods work i havenbt heard anything about a new update that makes them notwork i know mines still does i use it all the timebut im not the official on this so yeah IDK.
well first do tyou even have xbox live i should have asked firsted and sec it shouldnt be in your games section its in the game section thats on xbox live marketplace you only need a silver account to get get it if you odnt have xbox live though i dont think you can get it
Should just get a zune if you want to hook up to a 360 or you could stream music from your computer to your 360 if you put them on the same network connection
that happened to me to with my psp. i used to conect it to my 360 to listlen to music and now i cant!:( Anyways i think its because microsoft wants everyone to buy a zune.

because they didnt want their products working with a competitors product
But that isn't even consistent. Macs can run Windows XP/Vista. Hell you can even get the entire Office Suite for Macs, and Apple even has their own answer to those programs. Why would they allow the competitors operating system to work on their machine and not even let us use our iPods with a 360? In the matter example they aren't even directly competing devices.
That doesn't even make good market sense. This diminishes the appeal of the iPod, rahther than enhance as it did before.
