Three rings of death after my six hour COD 4 match yesterday.

I bought this 360 on launch day (Nov. 22) in 2005. I think I've been pretty lucky for it to live this long compared to some on here.

So how long does it usually take to get it back if you send it in? I'm thinking I should just go ahead and buy an elite and when the old one comes back from MS, trade it in.

Any advice you have, please let me know.

i dont know, it all depends on what is exactly wrong with your 360. if you send it in tomorrow(can't today cuz it's a holiday) then on average, you should get it back within a week.

I had a lauch console that finally died in August of this year. I think that it took around 2 to 3 weeks to get mine back, but I can't remember exactly.

You do realize that the Elites have the same inards as your now deceased 360, right?? Your best bet is to just send it in for repairs, take a few weeks break from gaming (unless you have other systems) and don't waste the money on another 360. The only other option if you can't wait the 2-3 weeks, that kinda makes sense, is to buy and 360Arcade (which are rumored to have the Falcon 65nm in them), swap your HDD and sell you repaired 360 to cover some of the cost.

Sorry to hear that man, it sucks, believe me, I know.

Good luck with your next console and happy gaming.

So it got taken out by a 6 hour COD 4 match, almost 2 years to the day later ehh? Yeah that really sucks man, especially at this time of year when all these games are being released. Hopefully you'll get it back quickly.

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. I will probably just wait for it instead of paying for a whole new one. I find it strange that it dies on the same day it came out. Ah well, hopefully they'll fix it up and since I don't have to send my HDD, I'll still have all my stuff when it comes back (unlike the first xbox).

Yeah, my Launch 360 died about 1 1/2 months ago. I called MS, went through the spiel and then they sent me the box. It took about 3 weeks to get it back, I believe. So far so good!
