A moment of silence for the departed....... Well, I can't say it's surprising. I've heard many complaints of launch 360's having problems like this. If it still has a warranty you could send it back, though I doubt that it does. You could keep trying, but you will most likely need to buy another 360.
Anyway, if someone comes over and sees it sitting there. Tell them its an expensive paper weight. Then turn it on to show its amazing red glowing lights.
I got those red lights this morning and i was pretty****** off since i only had my xbox since christmas but then i found out it just wasnt plugged in properly and the red lights went away
Mine is pretty much a launch console as well and I think it is about to go soon as well. Mine was built December 2005 and it is acting rather weird lately.
dang im suprized it lasted tht long the first one i got only last 2 days lmao on augest 06 then i got 5 more and they all broke then i got alot of free stuff like microsoft points and games because i was tellin them off lol but then in may 07 i play it 24/7 and i have no proplems wht soo ever and never buy a cooling fan they burned mine right up lol
The unfortunate truth of the xbox 360. It was only a matter of time. My dearest apologies for you. I almost threw my console across the room when that happened and Microsoft tech support refused to have it repaired.
Mine died last week and its a march 06 console ive had it for over a year and it just died sudenly no worning just all the sudden 3 red lights sent it in yesterday hope it will be fixed fast
Mine died too. It was my third. I called exactly ONE WEEK AGO and they still havent shipped me a box. The repair order status is still pending! Im going to include a nasty letter, hopefully they'll send me a new one, and NOT A P.O.S. REFURB.
Just got a steal of a deal on a ps3 off ebay for $250. Ill probably be buying every nonexclusive videogame that I want for ps3 (madden, ncaa, gta iv, so on so forth). Truth is, the Halo series is about the only reason im puttin up with Micro$ofts crap. Its still an awesome system, but Ive just had about all I can take and im tired of supporting a company that sells me a product that wont last for me longer than 6 months.
If I'm correct, launch consoles are free repairs. But you should call Microsoft about it and tell them you have a launch console. I know they'll ask for your creation date, and I know if it's around like October 16, 2005, it's free to repair.

No, it only has the 1 year, they still charge you the full repair fee, sad but true.
i still have mine...PERFECT CONDITION MAN!!! got mine on launch day at 6 a m played from 8am to midnight that day... i got the 3 read lights once... last week but it was just because the electricity went out...i nearly S*** myself..lol... sorry man but defidently get another one and send it in so you can stay with the best gaming console!
