i got the halo 3 headset that came with the halo 3 xbox, anyway the tip of the metal part of the plug that incerts into the 360 controller broke off and i need some help to fix it.

Either consult Microsoft or unscrew the controller to remove the metal pointer and get a replacement halo headset.

no its not in the controller, the last segment, the pointed end brokethere is the base, the middle and the tip and the tip broke off not the whole thing.

Search your home or abode for all types of computer mics. My firend right now for x-box live is using a computer mic, it makes everyone sound like their on TS (teamspeak). But it works none the less.

I would replace it it with a messenger kit, you get a good mic and and the keypad (which is very useful) and it is pretty cheap now...

Or use one an old mobile phone hands free kit. My friend used one when he trode on his headset.

ok the only computer headset i have has 2 jacks, 1 for the mic and the other for the speaker. now do i have to buy a Y split and a 3.5MM to 2.5MM plug. will that work or will it make it ruin something?

no, all you have to do is get a replacement tip for your current headset.

lol, those wired headsets break all the time. i treated mine fine and ive gone through two, but i dont buy them by themselves! THEYRE 50 BUCKS AUSTRALIAN! i always get the 12 month live with it or the camera and get my moneys worth.
