Being an older gamer(I started playing video games when the Atari 2600, Intellivison and Colecovison were the systems of choice) I really, really wish there was a way that MS could construct some sort of system that would allow for gamers to play with people of a similar age group. There nothing I hate more than being in a game of Gears, R6 Vegas or Madden and have to listen to a bunch of squeaky voiced 15 year olds!!Â
i dont talk that much on xbl, but when i listen, i tend to hear more adults that bug me then young ones. but really who cares? its a videogame, if theres someone you want to play with, then put them on your friends list and send them an invite.
I think after a little while the kids are able to get their hand on a game. I played Lost Planet with a couple foul mouthed kids. I think that they should have age verification to play Live games or to even sign up for Live. I think it would very much help that gamers my own age are playing with me.

I dont really mind the kids that much (I've more or less gotten used to it) these days it's the L33t college aged kids that are being the jerks but, since I was one too, at one time all I can do is grin and bear it.

im not so sure... seems like a lot of them are stoned to.
I wish they would add a portion to the marketplace that would tell us about Xbox news, so I wouldn't necessarily have to go on the pc to check the news all the time.

How is he stupid for simply stating his opinion about something? Why is it such a bad idea? To me you only re-enforce the idea that an age system would actually be nice to escape the immature kids like yourself.
I have gotten use to the young loud 14 year olds. Over the past 6 years of having xbox live I have heard many of them. I dont want age restricted games, because even though playing a game is fun, its more fun to play with a server full mixed people. You got the older more mature guys who only talk about the game and objectives, then the younger guys that complain about dying and cheap kills. It makes a game fun playing with a community of all ages.

What are you complaining about? I'm Brazilian, and I have to hear these northern Americans with some da** annoying accents everytime I play a game online. I can cope with New England and West Coast, but the general accent that people from the South present is unbearable.
Sure that would be nice, it would also be doing a parents job for them by enforcing the age restriction. But even if the ppl are old enough, their maturity is also questionable.
It could be a problem if you have younger friends.. But I hate having to listen to little kids screaming into the mic or using profanity like crazy when they probably have no idea what they're talking about.. Maybe instead of grouping age groups Microsoft should group douche bags together so they can all run around team killing and screaming into the mics and tea bagging each other.

M$ just needs to improve the rep system by making it so someone with a 45% avoided for trash talking is paired with others with that rating that way us who are decent players can play with other decent players.
the rep system is broken considering everyone has a perfect rating cause if people don't review you it still counts as positive.

I never curse at anyone yet I'm 80% avoided the rep system is completely broken. Apparently I'm unsporting and aggressive when I never even used a headset back then. Beating people makes them cry and that is why I'm avoided.
Why did you bump this old topic which I posted in back in 2007? It's like traveling back in time. Anyway now that it's 2009 I wish they got rid of the party chat system.
I don't think it would help because anyone could lie about their age, plus if it was tied to credit card info then it would most likely be the parents' info and not the kids' info. The best time to avoid playing with little kids is late at night on weekdays.
I don't think that age specific rooms/ lobbies would do anything at all because all of the 10 year olds would just play on the highest age lobby or the one with most people in it (which would probably be the same lobby).
I say no, only since half the friends on XBLA that i have are 20+. I only have about 16 friends. If they did that i would only have about 6 friends. I cant stand people my age -.-

I agree with you completely. It's really no big deal how old the person your playing with is. Everyone's got a right to do their things, and like this poster said we have mute. And I usually go to party chat so I can only hear my buddies anyway. BTW, it usually not the teens that are on their being obnoxious. It's the older drunk people that go on in their twenties.
