Well what do you mean? It showed a light for a split second? Or it's still showing a red light and wont turn on?

I thought the red light meant that the 2 wires for the brick got loose. Tighten and check them.

It says on the bottom of the power supply what the different lights mean. Red is a fault I believe so it may be broken or the cord may just be loose. Cant think of any other reasons for a red light.

Alright well If you are smelling what I think you are smelling then something is definitely broken. I bet it is something wrong with the xbox because you get the stand by light before you turn it on.

I guess you can call Microsoft and they may fix it for you I don't know a whole lot about the warranty. Or you could try your power supply on someone elses xbox to see if it is broken or if your xbox is broken. If it turns out that the power supply is broken then you might be able to snag one off ebay or something.

The only thing I would watch out for if you are trying your PSU on another xbox or buying one is to make sure that the other xbox uses the same PSU. For example I have the 203W PSU and some xbox's use like 170W or something.

you power brick failed. the only way your gonna be able to play your 360 again is to either go to store and get one, or call the 18004MYXBOX if your still under warranty. they should replace it for free.

I dont think its the power brick, u should try it on another xbox and see what happens. I had the same problem and the power brick was fine, cause i tried using it with another xbox and it worked. It might be something with the xbox itself.

No dont get a new one yet this happened to me. The xbox might be overheated (at least it was in my case) so unplug it for a few hours and see if it works. If it does, then from now on leave it unplugged when you finish playing if it feels hot or the room you play in is really hot. I forgot where I got my advice from or I'd just tell you that.

I think my power brick showed a red light when i first got my 360, but then I realised that the cord at the back wasn't plugged in fully. So make sure that the cable at the back of the power brick is pushed in as far as it can go. Sorry if this didn't help or if i'm wrong.

i fixed mine because it did the same thing, to do this unplug it from power get a pencil or metal stick and poke the silver prongs, if this does not work you may have poked it too hard or it may just be overheated.

That happens to my freind a lot. He usually just unplugs the power brick for like 5-10 minutes and plugs it back in, and it works fine. Well, until it happens again. :p
