Ok so i recently lost my account do to the fact that i gave out my windows live Id and password. So he stole it and bought 72$ worth of stuff and now im wondering if i will ever get my money or account back. Ive called microsoft and they said i would get a refund and that they would call me back, its been three days since ive called them do you think they will keep their word? luckily they did lock the account so he cant spend any more. but he still gets on and sends messages to my friends and stuff

All I can say is the obvious,
What the hell were you thinking?

I really don't know what to do other than contact MS like you did.

you recover their gametag with the live ID and then use their CC to download content.

They guy probably changed the pw right away. Also i'm pretty sure they wont do anything because it's your fault. Though they might stop him from buying stuff.

If this teaches you never to give out your login details for anything then it's well worth the $70 you lost here.

Why did you give it to him in the first place? Not trying to be mean but seriously.

We all eventually make stupid mistakes. Lesson learned I guess.. Just be lucky all he did was hack into your Xbox Live account and take 72$ worth of stuff. There's people out there who get identity thefted out of millions.

Lol sorry mate, but your pretty silly to give out your details, i believe they would fix you up. i dunno about the refund though.

aslong as you can prove that your the actual owner of the account, you'll be fine.

this is why you seperate password between your live id and email address, this is why there are secret questions that you should ONLY know the answer to, this is why you should not trust anyone, even yourself making that stupid judgement call

Valuable life lesson learned, and they might. I honestly don't know what they'll do, I have never heard of people actually trying to get a refund for their own stupidity :(.

Anyone who has ever sued McDonalds.

"McDonalds made me fat and I deserve a million dollars." No you deserve nothing for eating so damn much.

"There's no Catution, Hot label on the coffee." Well I thought you would've figured that part out before you bought the coffee.

Wow, not so clever post i gotta say, they won the settlements didn't they?  They weren't so stupid at picking their lawyer, are you jealous or are you one of those devoted employees?

.

He didn't claim that they lost their lawsuits or anything like that, just said that they didn't deserve anything for their own actions.

I for one agree. I mean the second you grab a hold of a coffee cup you can feel the heat radiating from it... if you're not smart enough to realize that the heat coming off the cup is due to hot liquid inside and you put that hot liquid into your mouth and burn yourself... you're probably not smart enough to read so that brings us full circle to the whole "there wasn't a label on it" thing... I'm guessing they burned themselves on purpose.

He said he'd never heard of people asking for refunds for their stupidity. I was just showing examples when they got it back. Nowhere did I say they didn't get their settlements I just said they got money back for their stupidity. It looks like your the one with the not so clever post then.

wow did you get one of those messages ''I JUST GOT 4000 FREE MS POINT! GO TO THIS SITE TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET YOURS!'' well you see,... when you go to the site, it asks you for your account and password and then they use it to buy MS points on your account. when i got one of those messages i replied and said ''i'm not giving you my password so you can jack my account'' and then he sent me a voice message asking me to join his scam and i'm like ''no thanks'' and he told me 23 people have fell for the scam....sooooo at least your aren't the only one who fell for it :) and there isn't too much you can do about it. try changing your password if the people already haven't, otherwise, see what Microsoft can do...
