If it's a demo Xbox Live might crash. If it doesn't, it's going to take a Long time to download. I doubt it though, seeing as the game is just a couple days from release, I really don't see them releasing a demo, however amazing that would be. I can't see it being another video though, there's already plenty of those. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
maybe it has nothing to do w/ halo 3, maybe it 's somthing about either halo wars, or the peter jackson halo project. a bunch of bungie employees were down in new zealand last week to "help out w/ somthing".

Then why is the countdown on the Offical Halo 3 site and not just on Bungie?
Everyone who has preordered the game gets a free Halo 3 stamped ham sandwich and Halo 3 soda mailed to them when it ends? Personally, I think you can mark it down as another item in the massive list that has lead to this game being completely and insanely over hyped.

to be totaly honest i didn't pay any attention to the url at the top, i just thought it was more likly one of the other 2 things considering how close we are to the launch of halo 3.
If bungie had a heart, they'd put out a demo, haha, That would just be one more record to the list, most downloaded demo on xbox live marketplace.

Stop posting that, it's just getting anoying. Everyone knows it's hype but the reason people hype things is because it looks great. When mysterious things like this happen it always jumps up the hype for what it could be. Need another example? Did you ever see Transformers? THat one preview that is a home video of a going away party for "Rob" then you hear roars, then up on the roof see a huge explosion in the distance and then everyones running and panicking because fireballs are coming down so people are running away in the street and the Statue of Liberty head flies down in the street. then BAM you see no title, just it saying a new JJ Abrams Project (he created Lost FFS) and then the date 1-18-08. That movie is incredibly hyped right now and was evenb more hyped on the release of Transformers.

No way. Too many stores have midnight releases planned for Microsoft/Bungie to allow stores to release games earlier, not to mention the huge promotions Gamestop/EB have for this game, like the 20% extra trade in value on games.
