NCAA Football 08 kicks ass. EA isn't the only company who spams mediocre games. *Cough* Ubisoft.Staryoshi87
Yes they are. Nearly every EA game is mediocre at best (a few exceptions). Ubisoft keeps bringing quality titles. Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW2 and Assasins Creed later this year.
I don't get why gamers keep feeding their money to EA for half assed games. I do hope Army of Two won't suck though but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yup, I agree.

W/e, I won't try to change your mind but I won't sit idly by while you try to brainwash the minds of others. Ubisoft = Multiplatform spamming to make $. EA just takes liscened stuff to make $ (aka movie games). Also, their football games are on track this year. That said, any game based on Nascar is bond to bore my pants off, regardless of the developer.
Yup, Nascar 08 looks and plays like a disaster.BioShockOwnz
For the demo, EA decided to give you a setup almost exactly like you would put in real life... which is a bad idea since it will drift to the left if you try to drive it in a straight line (This is because of the geometery of the tires). For people who used a controller, you probably deleted the game instantly because of this. If you had a wheel (especially the MS wheel), you probably had a blast. This is best playing NASCAR game since NASCAR Racing 2003 Season on the PC. That is a big honor because that game is selling for over $100 on eBay. If you know what's going on, you probably loved the demo.
I just don't see what is so entertaing about driving a stickered car incirclefor hours on end.darkchaostitanCan't this logic be implied to every sport? "What's so entertaining about kicking a ball around in a rectangle for 2 hours". idk I just feel bad for Nascar, everyone is always making fun of it!
The demo was ok, I can see it being fun with the steering wheel.
I take it you don't like sports games in general.msjr78.
Not in particular. The only sect. of sports games genre that I like is in fact racing, but as I said there really is no point to drive in a circle for a 180 laps or so.

Yeah I was making fun of it just last night. I watched Days of Thunder for the first time (while at work) and my co-worker who simply loves NASCAR (it's the only game he plays) kept coming over and asking me what I thought.I kept saying how acurate and realistic it was then laughing.
I agree. The cars looked like a blob of color and not to mention so many ads all over the game. This is EA filth... Offcourse EA has a few good franchises like Need for Speed and now they have Crytek but their sports games suck. At least Ubisoft has all the Tom Clancy games.turgore
have you seen an effing NASCAR race. the reason there are ads all over the place is because its how it is in REAL LIFE. there not just throwing adds in there for the sake of throwing adds in there.
I played the demo and didn't even run a complete lap. I read a review talking about how great the graphics are and how good the cars look with the light shining off of them, are you kidding? Seriously PGR 3 looked better. Can't even compare it to Forza 2 and it seems to be getting 8's on rerviews. Whatever, keep buying EA titles and I'll keep laughing.CorporateHammer
EA Games is the generic game maker and has been for years, they buy so many franchises and screw them up... cough C&C, cough, 007, seriously and nascar reminds me of a ceiling fan with more noise.

i agree EA has made some great games, but they have also seriously just thrown some out there, and screwed some up. and i am so glad they dont have the rights to 007 anymore, come on activision, please dont screw it up as well.
other than need for speed games, NOTING wrong with EASizeMatterzz
Today EA announced another excursion into the world of in-game ads, and the publisher is going with Massive once again. This time, Massive will provide ads for Madden NFL 08 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 on the Xbox 360 and PC, and just the Xbox 360 editions of Skate, NHL 08, and NASCAR 08. In a statement explaining the company's decision, EA senior director of in-game advertising Shelby Cox said, "Massive has proven its ability to deliver relevant ads in a seamless, nondisruptive way that enhances the realism of the game environment."
Not to you maybe but don't be fooled. EA is probibly making more off the ads than the game sales. To have so much ad space and the price at the max you are being screwed. I'm not aginst ads but the sale of ad space should trickle down to the buyer because lets face it we are the ones who have to look at the crap. EA is really getting to me personally. Tiger Woods 07 50 player max on the server are you kidding? Ya, Madden is great but its the only nfl game so you really don't know how good a NFL game can be. Look at the rival 2k sports titles, so much better in the means of a sim expierence. BTW the last NFS game was horrible compared to Most Wanted.
EA is a powerhouse and doesn't just mess things up. Fight Night Round 3 was a wonderful game, the new football games are setting up to be great (NCAA is great and Madden I can only hope will be even better). CNUrGames
Again you have no other games to compare to. This is the only way EA can sell games because any competition would kill.

ya i absolutly despise the Madden Franchise because the 2K series was always better. But their NASCAR games have been improving over the past few years so i have to give them credit.and i rented the latest Harry Potter game and it was pretty cool to freeroam Hogwarts. Also i am looking forward to Burnout Paridise and Army of Two

Last time I checked there was no mediocrity in games like Beyond Good and Evil and the upcoming Assassins Creed. Also, of course Madden is a powerhouse, it doesnt really have another NFL licensed game to compete against, EA saw fit to not allow it.
Im not sure why you guys get your panties in a bundle over Nascar. What do you expect. I mean how much more can they improve on a racing game. They add new drivers, cars, graphics and a few more tracks...I just cant see why so many of you complain about a game that is only going to get better graphically. What do you guys want? Topless pit-crews, nitro boosters, machine guns mounted on the hood? Come on, this game is about toped out as it is.drdrillnfill
Well I honestly only played the demo, and you say the graphics are improving so its a good game. Have you played forza 2? You can't even compare the graphics between the two. Ya the game may be getting better each year but how much improvement? Adding pit crew animations and mini games extra modes are great but I personally prefer a good solid game over graphics and modes which is why I went with All Pro Football this year and couldn't be happier. Every year EA games do improve but they are still lacking when paying $60 every year just to say I cant wait til next year. Again no competition.
