Alright, thats it, I have had it.

I have to get a new router, cause I have a linksys, and we all know they suck. I have tried all the fixes for this, and none of them work for to long, they are all temp fixes, and I can't f'n take it anymore.

I have posted ideas for people to try and fix this, and I have also told them the fixes I have tried.

I end every fix with this: get a D-Link, so I am gonna get a D-link. My question is if anyone thinks this is the right thing to get, or not. Please post any thoughts, as I will be going after work today to get it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for...some encouragement? A pat on the back? What?

In my personal experience, D-Link sucks. My last 2 Linksys routers were great, never had a problem with either of them.

I currently have a D-link wireless card for my desktop PC and it's constantly losing connection (I'm using the Verizon wireless router that they make you use, not my old Linksys). I can sit a laptop right next to it and it never loses signal. So I have no choice but to assume that the D-Link card sucks. Hope that helps.

Do you need wired? Wireless? More info would help.

I have a D-Link and I usualy forget it exists, and that's a good thing, I think.

It was cheap too, and it has the "Live Compatible" logo.

******, Linksys, D-Link all work great.

Netgear - I've had issues with in the past.

Nether is right about Netgear, that was my 1st choice (I was cheap...), and it didn't work with Live. Well it did work, but had serious problems like no voice, problems conecting to friends' hosted games... a mess.

Regarding D-Link it pretty much worked everything out of the box, just had to open 2 ports on its firewall, but those are documented on the internet.

Out of curiosity, which Linksys router did you have?

I've had a Linksys WRT54G for over a year, and have had hardly any issues with it.

I've had nothing but good experiences with my Linksys WRT54GS for almost 2 years. In fact, my friend has a D-Link (wireless) and he has quite a few issues. Perhaps yours was just faulty...

Good luck buying your new router though, and D-Link is generally cheaper.
