Need Bioshock ending explanation (Spoilers!)

I just finished Bioshock. It was a great game but the ending left me slightly underwhelmed. I both harvested and saved little sisters. Can someone explain the ending? As far as I can make out, I was Fontaines son. I was put on earth as some sort of puppet. When I killed Atlas, I took all the Adam and returned to earth to reak havoc. Is that the ending in a nutshell. Some insight would be appreciated!

basically, you were a clone made in rapture and sent out for a while to came back in the plane crash. (I think) Fontaine/Atlas has control over you which you should know, so I dont' know why I said that.

Theres two endings, the good and bad one. You got the "bad" one. I think its either you mostly harvest little sisters or just even harvest one, but you're seen as an evil person and after you kill Atlas the splicers hit the surface. Where as if you didn't harvest any little sisters you would of brought all the little girls to the surface where it would show them graduating, getting married, having children, and being by your side on your death bed.

Atlas is Fontaine obviously, and you are his son who was bred and given phony memories so you coulddo his bidding,and since you didnt save all of the little sisters you encountered, you got the bad guy ending. But if you save all the Little Sisters, then you get the good guy ending, which is much better IMO.hillelslovak

wait im so confused or everyone is so wrong but arent you andrew ryans son that was made with a girl from the cluband then fontaine made a life for you on the surface then brong you back down to kill your dad since you could evade some security and then he takes over rapture

Was fairly clear to me. But then I paid attention to what they were saying and collected most of the logs.Because you are Ryans son your DNA matchesclose enough that you can use the bathyspheres, vita chambers, etc. and aren't cut down by security immediately.In the good ending you leave Rapture with the rescued little sisters and live happily ever after.
