My friend was considering buying a 360 but he still isn't sure yet because of the whole RROD so I was wondering if the RROD still exist? And if they do what should my friend do to prevent his console from catching it? Anyone's advice will be very much appreciated:).

RROD still exists but it seems far less likely to happen than it used to be. I barely hear anybody talking about RROD anymore.

Okay cool. Also is there any special place where you guys keep your 360 like away from any kind of heat or something?

Yeah, not in a confined space that isn't hot.

Try to keep about 18 inches away from any walls that might surround your Xbox, so the air can flow in and out cleanly

And don't worry about it. Even if it does RRoD, Microsoft will repair it for free for the first 3 years.

That or buy it at Costco and get a Free Lifetime Warranty

RRoD is almost slim to none...as far as how often they happen. I played my 360 like a maniac for a year after I got it back...often 6 hours whenever I play. Disc Unreadable is what I recently got. Microsoft fronts the bill on everything though.

Just treat it right and it won't have any problems thats what people been telling me, besides the 60 gb console is the newest one and if he bought it, he probably won't have any chances of problems.

slim to none? are you kidding me? it still happens a lot, but the rate has gone down quite a bit, microsoft will fix it at least for first 3 years, only bad part is waiting while you ship it and wait for it to come back
