Need Help, Downloading Game Settings error on COD4

my COD4 out of no where gets stuck taking ages at a screen that says "downloading game settings" when i search for a game

i've never seen this and all the fixes i've tried to look for online for it suggest resolutions that don't involve the xbox 360 version

i've tried reseting my router, that didn't change anything

if it helps, my NAT is open and i'm using the WiFi adaptor but previously my NAT was strict and i had the 360 wired into my laptop and was relaying my downstairs wireless internet through my laptop to the 360 and this had never happened then

any advice for solutions to this problem on the xbox 360 version would be great

EDIT: oddly enuff World At War works fine. No problem getting into a game.

I read it was mostly a problem on other platforms, and that it was an issue during the beta but only then

It's happening to me too and I thought I was alone on this. I tried resetting the router and nothing. junbug119

Hmm, at least the 3 of us have this issue. I'm glad to see we're not alone. I hope we all get a resolution to this problem soon and i will personally PM you guys if i discover a fix

I hope they fix the problem soon. COD4 has been out nearly 3 years now? And, I'm still very addicted to it. MW2 is working for me but I really don't like that game as much. junbug119

Yea. I've never had this issue before, So why now? Lets hope it resolves itself.

I don't have MW2, and i'm not really interested in it. I've got W@W which i play for Nazi Zombies almost exclusively, i don't really like the online TDM of it too much personally but it works fine which is odd

Just press control and V and it will let you paste into a gamespot message.

Its good news if they've seen the issue, hopefully their working to fix it soon but i haven't really played MW2 so i just borrowed it from a friend so maybe that will ease me out of the lack of COD4

I would totally have bought MW2 a long time ago but deathstreaks sound kinda bleh and i love the COD4 maps, if they actually had all of them in there from day one i would'v got it at launch

Is it just me or is MW2 (i just started playing it online) easier to die in?

Coz i've got a 1.4 K/D in COD4, pretty good i'd say not great but decent.

In MW2, i've only just started by i'm down 130-150 K/D. I guess I'm getting use to the new maps in MW2 but I really prefered the killstreak rewards from COD4 to this, infact i'd love to see an update to put the old killstreaks into MW2 maps.

Care Packages are cool i guess, but i'd rather get the airstrike at 5 and copter at 7.

I'm torn between the two, but thankfully COD4 is now working
