Hey guys. I recently was given an Xbox 360 as a gift, and it didn't work. The wireless receiver or whatever it is called would not allow a connection between a wireless controller and the 360, so we returned the 360. It was replaced with another one, however, we retained the original cables. When the new 360 arrived, the connection for the power adapter would not plug into the 360. The plugs seemed to be slightly different, and it would not fit. I was wondering how to tell which 360 model I had, and why the power supply cord will not fit (this is the plug coming from the brick that goes into the 360, not sure of the correct name). Thanks for any help!

well i think you should return everything as well, go back and return it, there should be no problem since you got the green light for the system.

Power supplys are insanely expensive and if you just got it you either got a jasper or a falcon. one has a 150 watt or whatever supply and the other is 175.

over the manufacture date you should see some numbers and if its 12,1A its a jasper if its not it should be a falcon. if its like 16,5A then you go screwed and have a extremely old xbox.

OXM has an article on it if you really want to go the hard way and pay for something you should be entitled to.
