I'm looking for a new controller. A wired one. The wireless one I have now is excellent, but I hate that I have to keep plugging it in to recharge it.

I'm looking at one of these:

1. Razer Onza TE Professional GamePad

2. Ghost Recon Future Soldier Pro GamePad by MadCatz

3. Call of Duty Black Ops Precision Aim Controller by MadCatz

4. MLG Pro Circuit by MadCatz

From what I understand the latest edition MadCatz (GRFS GamePad) has fixed some ergonomic issues. My issue is the negative feedback everyone is giving MadCatz. I also hear bad things about the Razer Onza's triggers. I play 95% FPS so, I want a good controller and I don't want to pay $60 for one.

Please help with comments or suggestions.

Thanks!

I'd really just get a wired Microsoft one. I've always had issues with MadCatz.

Avoid Razer Onza, they break within weeks... Its a good controller once you get used to it, but they never hold up..

why dont you just keep it plugged in? im confused here as why ou would want to blow 60 on another controller unless you just want a different color / design

Honestly, a little bit of both. I want a new controller and the reason I don't keep it plugged in is because it has no breakaway and the cord is short. And I like the look and extra features of both the Razer and the MadCatz. They both light up..oooh pretty... and they have mappable keys. The Razer gets rid of the cheap 10 year old membrane style buttons in favor of newer tech mechanical buttons.

Both the Razer and MadCatz have breakaway, braided cables and they are 15ft & 9ft long respectivley.

Also, I wouldn't blow $60 on either one. The Razer is $30 NIP on eBay and the MadCatz range from $20 - $45 NIP on eBay.

I'm not sure what to do then...

A few of the reviews say MadCatz suck and they will break in a few weeks.

Then I read something like this where you say the Razer's will break within a few weeks.

What about using the warranty on them?

Is there no competition against Microsoft for a viable controller option? Has Microsoft cornered the market here?

Microsoft controllers are really the best overall controller, but even within a year a stick or two eventually wears out..
