Hey everyone i just got a Xbox 360 recently and i was wondering if anyone can help me out with 3 things:

1) What are Microsoft Points used for?

2) Do you download Demos with Microsoft Points or are they free?

3) I was thinking of buying a Intec Air Cooler for my 360 but i dont know if i should because some people say it jus makes things worse.

Heres the link for the Air Cooler : http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10092722&catid=

I would appreciate any help please and thank you:!

MS points are used to download arcade, original xbox and DLC.

Demos are free, but i think you need a gold membership to download them

You don't really need an air cooler, just keep your xbox in a ventilated place and don't leave it on for days. Also i think air coolers take power from other parts of the xbox which makes it slower?

You can buy MS points on your xbox or from xbox.com. Just go to the marketplace and search for the game you want to download stuff for.

1. Microsoft points are used to purchase things on the xbox live server, like xbox live arcade games, map packs, and add-ons. 2. Demos and trailers are 100% free. 3. Air coolers are not a good risk. You're better off just keeping your 360 standing upright in an open area.

Demos are free for anyone to download, but in the first week a new demo is available only Gold accounts can download it. The price of DLC varies by game. Some games have free DLC, others charge for it. There is no standard rate for an extra map pack, though most items on Live are priced in round 100s. Be aware of the difference between Microsoft Points and Gamerscore - they are totally different and unrelated. Microsoft points are currency for purchasing things from Live. You spend real money to buy them, and then spend the points on stuff you want. Gamerscore is something you earn from playing games and getting achievements. This is a number that will increase the more achievements you get, but cannot be used for anything other than comparing with other people's gamerscore - it cannot be used to buy things. Quite a lot of new people get confused and think they can spend gamerscore on new games.

If you get the new Intec Intercooler TS it really does help. My brother can play all day (and I mean 12 - 14 hours) and when he turns it off it won't even be hot. It has it's own power source, that was the problem with the other models.

I would not recommdend in buying a fan; you shouldn't NEED one to play your 360. Merely, keeping it upright in an open area where there is good air circulation should be enough. As well as not playing it for hours on end with little cool-down time. However, just my opinion.

Pretty much everything you need to know has already been said. To add a strong point though, I highly advise against buying a cooler for your 360. In addition to the fact that most of them only cause your console to produce more heat, they do have the potential to disrupt the composition of the ANA chip in your console (audio/video), and can cause you to eventually get an E74 error problem.
