need serious help in lego indiana jones

first off i unlocked acient city not even beat ever level in the first story mode so idk if thats right now i have young indy too with all atrifacts in first story but anyways my question is in acient citty i always come up like 5-1k short and i do same thing every time and it makes me made that sometimes i have more then others anyway.....details please
