I need to get a wireless adapter so I can play my console anywhere in my house without running wires all over the place. I'm wondering if the TRENDnet Wireless works better then the official adapter from MS. I don't really wanna pay 100+ if something just as good is available for $40.

Any advise is welcome. Thanks.

I've never heard of the TRENDnet Wireless N Gaming Adapter but after reading some reviews about it and looking into it it seems like a pretty good alternative to the pricey Microsoft one.

The trendnet is something totally different than the wireless adapter , trendnet one is a transmitter for wireless that is gaming freindly {nat settings} you will still need the Microsoft one to receive the signal.

The trendnet unit only connects to the console with a ethernet cable. This can be done with a shoret (3 foot) cable. It then connects wirelessly to your home network. Just to stat the obvious you will need to be able to plug this unit into power.

The MS unit just plugs into the back of the 360 via USB and doesnt need external power soure. If you choose the MS unit I would go with this one, Its the newer unit uses the wireless N format, faster than the one in the OP.

I assume that the OP is in Canada (like me) since you are linking amazon.ca

Ive noticed that bestbuy.ca has the MS wireless N adapters cheaper than amazon at $99. They dont seem to list the older wireless adapter

amazon.com has the MS adapter at $54. My gf lives in the states, (lucky me) so I'll have to buy it and have it sent to her, then she mails it to me. I was looking for a way around that option since it'll take twice as long for me to get it.

get the TRENDnet one, gaming adapters like that are sometimes a little more awkward to set up than the MS ones but they are much better value for money and besides the TRENDnet one is N wireless where as the MS one is only G (N= better than G)

dude what on earth are you talking about? what you just said shows you either havent read the product description or your dont know much about this type of tech ... its a wireless gaming adapter ... thats basically a wireless adapter that works through a connection to the consoles ethernet port ... you do NOT need the MS one as well.. .. ..

Yes I know that , the OP stated he wanted the xbox to be wireless to move around the house WITHOUT A WIRE , so he would need both .

a metre long (or shorter even) ethernet cable is hardly going to be wires all over the house
