I'm interested in signing up for the Neflix movie downloads but concerned that the movie quality will be poor and worse that they may pause for the download to catch up.

Can anyone reassure me that this is not a problem.

I just streamed a full movie over the weekend and didn't have as much as a hiccup. The movie started right away and played throughout with zero buffering.

Same here. The quality is like watching Hulu. Worse than HD but better than watching a SD broadcast on a HDTV. If you have a SD tv it probably looks as good as watch regular over the air TV, except theres no snow or scrolling lines ever.

I watched several films over the weekend and thought the quality was great. The only time I had any streaming was when I would ocme in and out of fast forwarding.

I think it works well. My wife and I watched a few episodes of Heros. The quality on my connection with the naked eye was close to the origional HDTV broadcast. This is on my Sharp Aquous 52". Don't expect many new movies. Netflix is a great service to rent movies just look at this as a nice perk.

the only thing I wish I could do with it is force it to have a certain quality with an increased buffer before it starts. Right now it will determine your typical speed, then start to buffer, but if something slows your connection down early, it will recalculate and rebuffer at a lower quality. This is annoying, forcing you to quit and reload at a different time. But this only happened once, at a time where typically bandwidth is being used the most...

Don't listen to this guy, his experience is not at all typical. My Netflix works great-the quality is great, there is no loading or buffering times, and there's a decent amount of good TV shows and Documentaries and movies and stuff on there. Definately worth it for the 12 dollars a month or whatever it is. This is by far the best feature of the NXE.

It works great. Unforunately you cannot have every movie you think of stream. It is usually only the older ones. You cant even stream Casino Royale, I ordered that one throught he mail.

But superbad is one of the newest it has for streaming, but not for the xbox.

But it is still good if you want to see some older movies. I've streamed on my 360 Scarface, Blade Runner, Mad Max 1 and 2, Sudden Impact so far.

It depends on your connection. If you have a fast one that doesn't dip, the quality will be very good (not true HD, though). Of course if it's an old show or movie, the quality will not be good (and may not be widescreen). Just be realistic in your expectations, it's a streaming service.

I expected more from Nextflix through the 360, quality is no that great, in fact it's borderline regular TV quality. But the HD content looks good, and there's not much to choose from on the HD side of things, the streaming is absolutely flawless with no hiccups at all. In fact I was shocked at how much better it is streaming from Netflix than streaming from a computer to the 360. Overall Netflix is a great addition, they just need to get in the HD era a LOT more than what they currently are. At least on the 360 side of things.

right now im really aggrivated with the variable quality. sometimes i will run the movie and i will get 1 bar quality.... i will close the movie and run it again, and i will get 3 bars quality... it makes no sense. i have a 15mb connection and i can DL at 1.5megs per second, i shouldnt be having these issues.

needless to say i will not continue beyond my free trial period.

My quality is unacceptable too. Lots of buffering, and stopping to recalculate speed. I have comcast blast and average 20 to 25 kb/s. My 360 always shows 4 full bars and my ps3 shows 95 to 100%. I'm wondering if it could be my router?
