Well ive only played the multiplayer......

I have halo 1 (PC) and halo 2 (xbox)

I dont like FPS games....and I HATE sci-fi games.......so when you mix them you get a game i dont really like......

With all that said......do i need to have played the 1st and 2nd one to know whats going on in Halo 3??? I dont even like the Halo series but Im pretty sure its a law in this country that if you have a 360 you have to get Halo 3.....so ill be getting it.....

I actually have no clue what fight they are talking about...so "Finish the Fight" means pretty much nothing to me.....im guessing its just aliens are threating humanity and you have to save everybody, right??? I just think thats boring and generic.....but I at least want to know whats going on...

So should i play them both?? How long are the single players??? Will i be able to beat them in like....2 days or less??? I just want to play them, understand the stories and get it over with.....I have tons of work to do....but I have my values...and 360>Work

Any questions answered would be appreciated...

well, figure that the first Halo will probably take you around 10-12 hours to complete, and Halo 2 about 8-10.

I played Halo 2 before Halo with no problems. The story isn't a huge part of the game, and even so, it's not hard to follow without having played the prequel. I assume Halo 3 will be similar, but from your post it seems that there are other games that would better suit you.

If you don't care about the series, forget about it. Just go online and find some fansite if you want to know about story.

The games themselves don't really provide much of a story. You can tell they try to, but the narrative really sucks, and you find yourself remembering more about certain action sequences, rather than the filler cut-scenes they call a "story arc".

If you want to immerse yourself in a great action game with story, go with the Half-Life2 collection (coming out in October, I think?). More fun, and less of a chance the juvenile tool in line next to you with his mother will be buying the same game.

No need to play... Just read the background story from wikipedia... You'll have a better picture of the universe compared to actually playing it...

Halo was mildly entertaining except for the last level with the reactors which sucked. Halo 2 wasn't even worth it. The stories are convulted, and the gameplay is really boring. The first one was good for its time, but by Halo 2 single player had become a long training mission for multiplayer. That said, I'd still rate them both a ten when online play is taken into account. You can play them, but you might just want to keep a streak going and skip Halo 3 SP as well. I would if I wasn't so curious how it ends since I have already finished the first two.

...Last I checked beating a game in 8-12 hours is not that long if anything its average if not below average for a FPS. I would recommend playing Halo 1 just because it really is an awesome experience and the story doesnt really involve Halo 2 that much but you never know...Halo 1 could be very involved in Halo 3 so its worth playing both. Plus....its fun

I've played Halo 2 online for about 10 minutes and the Halo 3 beta for about an hour but that's about it.

yep, 8-12 hours is pretty normal (and actually I prefer 12-20 hours myself, and 40+ hours for RPGs). 8 hours is considered a short game.

It took me 6 months to beat Gears Of War.....people said that was short too...short games take me a really really long time...

im gonna guess that your one of the people with no unique personality nor life and just do what the majority does even if you don't like it so that you can try to fool yourself and others that you are ''cool''.btw your topic is wrong, you played halo 1 and 2 so don't make lies to get atention.

You can find the story on wiki or on fan sites, so you really don't have to play the other games if you don't want to.

You should play Halo 1's single player campaign though, it's awesome.

The majority of people have played Halo.....I havnt, so your logic is flawed....

And thanks for informing me that I have played them....i think im recollecting some thoughts.....I think after i beat them the M.I.B came by and flashed that amnesia pen thing at me....I remember men in black suits and sunglasses with silver pens in my house shortly after....and i remember one conversation with them saying I know too much...

BRB...gotta go report this

its called sci-fi fps not RPG game , theres not supposed to be story in there, if you really care about stories and stuff just wait for the RPG line up theres a plenty of games coming out this year.

why are you even asking about this if you dont like halo? if you odnt like these kind of games then dont buy them its just going to be a waste of your time and money and why spend it on something you dont want when you could buy a game your actually intrested in. it dosent matter if everyone else likes the halo series..just buy the games that you usually do.

And anyways...ive learned my lesson, never say anything bad about Halo in a 360 board....got it

I got my question answered...so thats pretty much it......

Halo is a generic FPS shooter that got a lot of rave reviews because it was new to dedicated console gamers. You're not really missing out.

well....if you're not a sci-fi person, then don't bother. If you weren't interested in playing the SP's of the first two, then just play the MP on the third one. You're not missing much if you're not interested in it.
