Don't get Orange Box, it has good games but it doesn't havethat much 'wow' factor to it. You need a game thatreally shows off what having a 360 is about, in which case I would recomend GoW and Oblivion as good starter games.
GoW won't take you very long to play through but itis hella fun and has quite a bit of 'wow' factor. Once your done playing GoW you can play endless hours of Oblivion. Just my 2 cents.

Have you even played Team Fortress 2?! TF2 has the best graphics that I have ever seen.

Exactly. Just another "wow factor" to the game.
You know what i mean, I want to impress myself with my purchase lol :) I have only Halo 3 and Dead Rising at the moment but haven't opened either of them; fully willing to go back to the storeto grab somethin else.Garygok
I think you made 2 good choices personally... but for WOW factor alone, I'd go with Bioshock or Gears of War.
Wow factor aside, Dead Rising is my personal favorite game on the 360, and Halo 3 is great too (especially when using multiplayer co-op).
[QUOTE="Armor_Biff"]Yeah, Gears of War has probably the best graphics I've seen on Xbox 360...GarygokEven over Halo 3? Hmmm, maybe i should go out and grab that as my first game istead. ( I kinda planned on Halo 3 being the one I played first.)
Acctualy, if you want the best looking, no doubt Bioshock(Its also an amaising game)
I found Bioshock a really pleasant experience.
Also GRAW2 and Vegas if your into tactical shooters. Really good titles.
Don't forget Halo 3 - im not a hardcore fan but I like it and found it awesome.
Halo 3 and Dead Rising are good games, IMO, but Dead Rising appears to be one of those "Love it or hate it," games, so you may want to bring that back and rent it instead.
If you're looking for "wow" factor as far as graphics are concerned, you may want to pick up Gears of War or Bioshock. IMO, Gears isn't that fun, and Bioshock -- while great -- doesn't have much replay value, apart from the desire to LOOK at it again. Best water effects in a video game.
If you're looking for great gameplay, you can't go wrong with Halo 3 or Orange Box as far as shooters are concerned. Oblivion (Game Of The Year Edition) is probably the console's best game if you like RPGs.
