No problems as long as there is nothing wrong with you hard drive itself. Buy why get an elite to use a 20 gig Hardrive?!?!? You could just transfer you memory to the elite hard drive.

I'm not sure actually how to, as i never had. However no matter what hardrive your on you can always retrieve you XBL account for friend lists and gamerscore. For actual game data you could transport onto memory card from your original hard drive then put it on your new one. There might be an easier way though. So see if anybody else responds.

yes it is mate.. the elite should include a cross-over cable to connect your old 360 HDD with your new 'elite' HDD... then from there it comes with instructions on where to go in the dash to x'fer the data.. no sweat.

It's not included, you need to contact microsoft to get one (xbox.com) but it's free.

I got 3 red lights (hardware failure) and went and bought a new 360 at Costco. The new system with the old hard drive didn't work for some reason and I returned the new system. It kept freezing. I then sent back my original 360 for repairs and they sent me back a whole new system which is working fine with my old hard drive. I think the system I bought at the store might have been messed up and it had nothing to do with the old hard drive being used on a new system so if you do that I'd recommend getting the system at somewhere like Costco where you can return it if it doesn't work.
