What does everyone think of the new dashboard coming this fall? It does look quite kool, but it might take a coupole days to get used to which is ok.

It's ok but it dosen't seem as warm and friendly as the one we have now. It looks very commercial and kinect based.
I don't really care how many times they change it. I doubt it'll have any less functionality than the current one (and to be honest, I don't care, I just need to be able to turn the game on), and sometimes a little visual change is nice.
It's meant to be much more responsive so that's great. Of course it's even more geared for Kinect which makes me wonder if people like me, who don't want Kinect, will miss out on ay features.SilverSignalYou absolutely will. You will miss out on all the Kinect functionality.

kinda reminds me of the ps3 dashboard now though.LessThanMikeReminds me of the XMB as well. Looks rather generic but still a better layout then what we have now. Looks way more comprehensive. Miss the second updated dashboard most. (before NXE) It actually started me on my home page instead of adds and promos. (which still PO's me)
I wonder how themes and picture backgrounds will work.
Also why can't they let us put 4 different photos up as our backgrounds instead of just 1?
I got some I want as my main, game, media, and System backgrounds.
Meh, too streamlined for me. I really like the current dashboard, it's fairly simple and it looks inviting and fun. This new one is kind of boring.
I don't really like it, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I think it would be cool to have the option to go back to previous versions of the dashboard.
And I wish there was a way to disable ads so they weren't always in your face while on the dashboard. Just something that annoys me.
It looks pretty cool, although I'm surprised they didn't try to go with the new "tiles" style that Windows 8 will get. I'm sure the tiles thing would work really well with the Kinect.
As stated before, I kind of looks like the PS3/PSP dashboard, which is good, in my opinion, because I really like that better.
I can't wait to test it out for myself to give myself a better opinion.
great another design to make our themes usless, this is total crap. i dont see why it needs a new design EVERY 11 months.Spire88If the dashboard never changed, people would complain. When it does change (once a year is hardly frequent), people complain. Microsoft can't win.

well than we should have a CHOICE if we want to have the new dashboard downloaded instead of it forced on us and our ability to play online taken away untill we do.
I want the old Dashboard back. You know, the blade system. It was so calm, so much less stimulating, and the sound effects added to it. Now with these dashboards I feel like I drank 3 Five Hour Energies 33 minutes after staring at the damn screenBad-School-Girl
I agree with you. I say to some people i want the old dashboard back because it looked kool and i liked it, but they all just hate on it. I though it was just plain, but effective. Simple, yet brilliant. You should be able to change between dashboards from time. That would be awesome!
