I just read on IGN that the new Disc format wasn't compatible for this one guy, and so Microsooffered to replace his Xbox. His old Xbox was a 60GBPro from 200. I got mine back at Christmas of 2008. Should I be worried? Which games are using the new Disc Format? Are all games using it from now on? Are the new releases that have come out this month using the format? I'm really hoping I won't have to get a new Xbox. Any help is greatly appriciated.

Sounds like just another way for them to force us onto the new console version. I'm not sure, but it stands to reason that if his was outdated and yours is even older, yours is probably outdated too. Call MS and check.

I'm not sure fi they've already sent e-mails out because that guy has one, but they are aparently offering to replace all consoles that aren't compatible, so if you haven't registered your xbox's serial number yet do so.

My xbox is from release but I've had to have it replaced twice since then, so I'm not sure if I'll have mine replaced.

I haven't registered my serial number..... mainly because I'm not sure where it is lol. So if I contact them about this, they may be able to send me a new one?

The serial number is on the back of your console by all of the ports...

so my console is from 2006, so it could break. But there has there been an official message from MS that they would replace consoles? And can you only find out after installing the new update?

Similar problem has been around for ages, halo reach was incompatable with certain early 360s, I had to buy a slim to play it
