So I brought my new Elite home the other day (because MS still has my premium that died the RRD) and I just had to play Bioshock. Which I did for a glorious 5 hours. But then the next day, I noticed my new Elite controller's right analog stick, sticks and so it occasionally veers to the right slowly.

Sure, not the end of the world, but this thing is expensive. MS support says they will replace it, but first I must send the broken one to them and pay shipping. Pay shipping on top of the inconvenience. Now I suppose I can use one of my old premium controllers in the meantime (those will sync up right?) but on principle I think I should return the whole 2 day old system and try to get a new one. I'll also lose all my progress on Bioshock (again no big deal, just annoying)

What do you guys think? What would you guys do?

My controller does the same thing. That's sad that shipping isn't covered under warranty though, it should be. There's really not much you can do either than live with it, buy a new controller or send it in.

I doubt it's a specific problem to elite controllers.

Honestly I think I just got an unlucky controller, but I spoke to Target (where I bought it) they told me to bring the whole system in and they will swap it for a new one. Can't ask for anything more than that. Pain in the neck to disconnect everything and all that. But it beats waiting for MS to get around to shipping me a new one.

My left analog stick does that... like once i move it to the left and it returns to the center, the controller picks it up like im moving the stick lightly to the left... kinda pisses me off wen playing madden and trying to kickoff

if u game alot, chances are that 1 of the analogs will stay slightly one direction. theres nothing u can do about it, its not microsofts fault. it depends how much u use that controller

I was just about to ask how long ago you bought it and that it's probably easier to just exchange it with the retailer.

Good thing I read the whole thread before posting... haha.

I know with my ps2 controllers they'll do that, you just have to rotate the analog sticks around though and everyones okay again.

I was thinking about getting the Elite.. basically just because it's black, but i heard there were more disadvantages to the system and should just get the premium.

Take it back where you bought it, most stores have a 30 to 90 day return policy.
