All single player games need the feature where you beat the game and carry over features from the previous playthrough. I was recently going to buy batman aa, but apperantly when you beat the game you dont carry over your gadgets or upgrades.IMO that's a deal breaker. So im gonna buy shadow complex and something else instead. Games like mass effect and dead space come to mind with the whole carry over thing and offer a lot of replay value. Personally I feel kie there is more incentive to play, anyone agree?

It's not a deal breaker for me, but it's nice to have the feature. I'm sure as hell not passing up Mass Effect 2 up because of it.

I think it's a great feature. I like being able to go back through and try something like a speed run or something with all of my cool gear and abilities but I'm not going to not get a game because of it. I won't get Arkham Asylum because the demo wasn't exciting to me.

There are exceptions like bioshock and hl2. But we know mass effect will have the carry over feature because it was well done in the first game

Ok don't get me wrong some games don't need it. (traditional rpgs, multiple endings, lengthy games, multiplayer) But most games that don't have fit any of those criteria need it imo.

I'm personally passing on Batman AA because in Canada they are selling it for $40 CDN, and while that doesn't seem like a big deal to most people it will cripple resell value, and its a 12 hour game. Those two things mean high trade ins and a lower than usual resell price, very fast, even state side. I'll get it used in a month.

exactly there's not enough there to keep the game after you've beaten it and done challenges

My thoughts exactly. I do think the new game + adds more replay value to the game and so I would like to see more games have it

It's a nice feature, but I never use it. No offense, but it seems kinda shallow not to buy a game because it doesn't have a new game + feature. Wouldn't it be better to spend that time and effort it requires for new game + on adding in-game features and increasing the length of the game?

I have since retracted my statement in an earlier post, and said certain games should definitely have it. Read the earlier post
