Is the new guitar with the touch frets that comes packaged with GH: World Tour reliable or have you had issues with your instrument? My GH 3 guitar broke when the whammy bar broke loose inside so I need a replacement. The GH: World Tour guitar package is $20 off again this week. Thanks for your opinions in advance.

I always use the Guitar Hero Explorer from Guitar Hero 2 for many reasons... Wired so I don't have to go through so many batteries... And not as many defects out of the package... I had my GH2 Explorer for the longest time and still use it today... The new one is pretty reliable... There is some issues that MAY come within' the package you get... But thats all to do with Karma... Good luck!

Thanks, I still have the guitar for GH 2 and my roommate usually uses that one but I preferred the feel of the frets on the GH 3 wireless guitar. I will have to check it out. The reason i asked about the touch frets is because every Best Buy I've been to to try it out has not worked well but that's probably from abusive wear and tear.

Oh I didn't realize that, I thought you could use the slider any time you wanted. When are you supposed to use it?

I've had nothing but issues with my Guitar Hero equipment since 3. Xplorer still works fine, and all my Rockband stuff works fine, except the drums are really loud.

mainly solos or keyboard parts and yeah its pretty reliable, but id probably stick with the Gh2 one - its pointless changing batteries constantly

Isn't the size also different? Perhaps that should also factor into your decision. The strum bar is also longer and supposedly quieter.

One of my xplorer guitars broke but i do prefer to use those all the time because I dont like going through batteries either. But i dont use the sliding part for the gh4 controller because it is frustrating trying to go from that back to the fret buttons, and it is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough.
