new Halo 2 update just released in the last 14 hours!!!

I just started up halo 2 on my 360 and it said there was an available update. I was playing it last night and there was no update so that means it happened in the last 14 hours. It looks like they are reinstating online play along with new achievements, but it will not let me sign on with my 360 live account.

Are you absolutly sure, what makes you think that they are adding new achivemtents and online play?

Why would they re-activate online for halo 2? And Halo Reach comes out in a few weeks so its doesn't make sense.

Halo 2 online is not coming back on get over it. Games update all the time and most of time time its really nothing. In fact if you don't use the perform maintenance option often enough you'll be updating every game you put in. i believe the HDD has a limit to how many updates it can hold eventually it will start overwriting other updates.

There are now Halo 2 acheivemants for xbox 360. After you get the update you will see them in your games acheivement list. I cannot get the halo 2 online 2 work but it is most definently what the update is trying to do. check it out for yourself, put in your halo 2 disc and play it in your 360m and get the update for yourself. maybe you can get it to work!

you sure you arent just looking at the PC version. They really would have announced something if they were truely bringing Halo 2 back and i dont see why they would when they just finished working hard to take it down.

There's no update or Achievements added. No online either. I checked it. If you got an update its because your 360 can emulate the game.

Well, wasn't it confirmed that achievements wouldn't be added to Xbox originals? Either way, it was probably an update for the emulator.

There are no achievements for the Xbox version of Halo 2. The PC version has them, not Xbox. And you can't get it online because Xbox games don't have Live connectivity anymore.

I still think it was stupid of Bungie to take down the servers for Halo 2, that game was immensley popular and they pulled the plug on it.

The game doesn't have a new update, xbox's don't keep all of the updates for games at the same time. If I remember correctly the xbox keeps updates for the last 3 games you have played. So you just played some games inbetween halo 2 and then it redownloaded an update it had deleted to make room in the cache.

Ah. Didn't know that. Well, I still think they should've melded it with the current version of Live. I'd still be playing Halo 2 online.

H2 is dead, get over it.
