Oh wow, face lift from MP. Is this really Halo3 SP?magicalclick
Yes it is, all in shiny and detailed material.
is that arbiter. well looks like there might be a chance of playing with somebody besides mc. i wish not though. i hope sp length is like 15-20 hours long. probably gonna be like 8-12 hours.xbox360isgr8t
Co-opertavely, maybe. But I doubt we will play as The Arbitor.

people can't say this looks bad.... it takes all credibility away.
Can't wait for this. I hope the SP campaign is better than Halo 2's. I'm sure that it will be.
Bioshock should keep me busy til this comes :)
the scenery looks awesome but everything else is meh. Chief's armor isnt impressive...some reflections are good. It just isnt the kind of graphics I want to see....I expected Bungie to put more work into it....
Actually i'll admit some of it looks good....but to see Master Chief look like crap makes me sad
why cant halo look like this ?
GTSaiyanjin2
bungie said it was going to look like that... but i guess not, i do like how masterchief looks in this pic WAYYYYY better
why cant halo look like this ?
GTSaiyanjin2
i hope it will... Master Chief looks flawless in that pic and its just not showing in those Bungie photos (although i like that second to last one) besides i was hoping the levels in SP would be more open like this not as enclosed as those Bungie photos appeared... like Halo 1 kinda thats what i want
why cant halo look like this ?
GTSaiyanjin2
it does. it just doesn't have the sand grained armor... thank god.

The final game looks way better than that. Just take off that lame grainy texture on his armor and thats how it looks now. Plus the lighting adds a lot.
what happened to the "battle scared" master chief? wasn't his suit supposed to be all dinged up and what not?FlawlessSeasons
I think Bungie is still working on the visuals.
Season
Maybe it looks like the jungle which is the first level in the game so MC didnt get his ass kicked yet.
wow!I Take back the things I said about the E3 07 Trailer! Though those are just stills of the game, I now realize itsprobably the animation that needs a bit of work. And the fire effects.THANKS for the screenshoots!

my thoughts exactly cuz in the microsoft press conference trailer almost all the scenes with MC is with the Arbiter so perhaps he will accompany you ala Marcus and DomYep, me too. Since Halo is a TPS where you often get to view MC from all angles, I care a lot about his model. Screw how fun the game is, I can't buy it if my character's visor doesn't reflect properly.the scenery looks awesome but everything else is meh. Yeah, they replaced the texture on purpose. I really don't care, but the artists apparently wanted it the new way-smoother look...
I really wish it was a bit more fancier - visually - with all these new FPS, and other titles comming out, it dosent really stand out visually - apart from the fact that it includes well known Halo assets.
I mean visually, its worse than plenty of games earlier this gen, I daresay some games last gen (PC ones).
Still, the gameplay should be quite good and fun. Lets hope Bungie nails the pacing right, like Valve.

And I think the game looks like it does now, due to hardware issues. If the 360 had the reasources, we would be getting a game closer to the E3 06 build.
Textures wise - think people! The 360 only has 512mb shared ram. It simly cannot take such a load, if its going to have large enivoroments, and loads of objects on screen.
They have to do a careful balancing act, when developing the game - between visuals, and playability.

The current build looks knowhere as good as that pic - and im not surprised - Bungie talks alot of **** when building up hype, just like any other developer out there. And I think the game looks like it does now, due to hardware issues. Halo3 is a "FPS", you can't see him most of time. And during cut-scene, so much resources are free (like AI)for a better looking MC. But who knows? Maybe they are still hiding something although that's highly unlikly.
Yes in cutscenes the devs are free to churn the game, and make the character models look alot nicer. Take GeOW or STALKER for example. Cutscenes were both in engine (with stalker beleive it or not), and the production studios who do the cutscenes - be it in house or not, are free to go over the top visually, due to less of a hardware hit.Take the E3 Halo 3 trailer for example. That fancy looking chief was never going to be like that in the final build. Why? Because only a single chief was being rendered in an almost empty enviroment... So it was in engine, but far from in game.
This is what I mean, when people were expecting the Beta to look leaps and bounds better - it wasent going to happen. Sure Bungie can modifiy player models, and add bloom and a few other effects - without taking a massive hardware hit.
However MCs model is still rendered in single player, due to the games 'jump in' co-op, but only people looking at the character will render the model.
Its practically impossible for any changes to the game now... Minior visual blemishes could be fixed, but when your so close to going gold there isnt much you can do. Same goes for the pre MP beta - there was only so much that could be changed - which would have been gameplay tweaks. fanboys screamed Bungie would do a visual overhaul - which was honestly bungie going into damage control and **** talking to shut up haters. The tweaked and added effects such as bloom. Thats it. And yea I had the mp beta :P
Ah well its been one hell of a saga....... Reminds me of all the Halo 2 BS back in 04.

Actually, according to Bungie Studios, they were able to add in Shiny-Cement Chief in the actual game, but they didn't like MC to be Shiny-Cement Chief because it didn't match the enviroment that they wanted. So they made him Clean'n Sheeny Chief, which I like more.
