It won't break now anyways. Just go for itchoffy
I dont know about that. Im just a little carefull, due to the fact Im on my 6th original 360.
Microsoft is only making the jasper models (if they ever appear) because then its cheaper to make a 360 to permit an eventually price-drop of the system. The Falcon models that are in store everywhere are very reliable. A friend of mine tested the temperature of his xbox by putting a temperature thingy on the heat-sink(GPU), and closed his xbox again and was playing gears of war for almost 5 hours. And the temperature of the heat-sink(GPU) was only 53 degrees Celsius (127.4 degrees Fahrenheit). That's really cold for a GPU that is stressed all the time.
So no need to worry about the RROD anymore, that is if you keep your xbox in a well ventilated area and not near a radiator. It's also better for your xbox360 to put it horizontal and NOT vertical because the xbox sucks air from the right side of the xbox and will be blocked if you put it vertical. And horizontal is also better for your dvd drive.
And for all you nayseyers, my friend played for about 5 hours and the buttom of the 360 was hand warm and not furiously hot.
I cant make up my mind, whether to get the falcon model now or wait maybe 4-5 months for the jasper model to be released.-Intellectual-
Falcons still die, just wait.
do you have proof of that?
anyone can say they have a RROD on a falcon 360 without showing the insides.
Your friend doesnt know what he's doing. He can say anything he wants, fact is Falcon is no more reliable than the launch 360's. They have a smaller CPU that runs cooler. This has NOTHING to do with 3RR0D which was totally from the GPU over heating not the CPU. The CPU overheating wasnt making 360's red ring it was the GPU. And the temp has to do with MANY factors, where you store the 360, what game your playing how GPU intensive it is vs cpu. Also the temp in the room, the airflow of the area, but the falcon 360's wont red ring ANY less than the launch 360's they made the CPU cooler. That has NOTHING to do with red ringing. It's because the GPU temp got way hotter than the CPU and the heat sink is much shorter, and the DVD drive is LAYING ontop of the GPU heat sink so it cant breathe. DO NOT BUY A FALCON wait on the Jasper.

That is not true. Falcon with a cooler CPU has nothing to do with 3RROD. Do you have a link for these number/statistics?
There are no jaspers on the shelves yet, but you should just get an Xbox 360 Pro 60gb because all of them on the shelves atm have the falcon chip so it won't overheat as much and it's much less likely to rrod. With the zephyr, 33% chance. With the falcon, %10 chance. With the jasper, 2-5% chance. Just get a new 360 with the falcon chip and you'll be fine.i_pk_pjers_i
Do you have any proof saying that Falcons Red ring less?? because they dont have any changes that would make them red ring less. I have a friend who had a Falcon that red ringed two days after he bought it. You dont need to take it apart completely you can shine a flash light through the side of the case and look at the CPU heat sink.
do you have proof of that?

If you look threw the wholes of the bottem with a flash light they look complely different
Key:
New = Falcon
Old = Not Falcon
you dont have to open the 360 to find out .. and also
If you have an HDMI on the back you have falcon
I heard the zephyr board at 90nm, falcon at 65nm and jasper at 45nm. Correct? Also I believe jasper will be manufactured in August 08. Mine is the falcon, Manu- July 01 2008, AC adapter 175w. I've only had mine for 2 weeks now, everything is cool so far, but I'm keeping my eyes fixated on the power button. lol ....sheesh SeraphLegionsNot correct. it's jasper at 65nm. For the date, they started in august 08, but it's REALLY RARE right now, and only seen in arcade model...
