Hi, I recently read this article which I will post a link to which says there might be a bigger xbox 360 hard drive coming out(It also talks about the Elite Black console might become axed). Now I am looking to upgrade right now because I only have a 20gb. Personally I want to so I can install games to prevent the 360 from overheating. Basically I'm asking do you think a new hard drive will lower the 120gb price? Heres what it says:

"As part of this transition, our sources continue to tell usthat Microsoft will begin offering a larger hard drive that is bigger than the 120GB drive that they are currently offering for those that either have an Acrade model and want to add the hard drive or those that have a pro system and want to upgrade."

The Web site is called Fudzilla.com

I originally thought I could do fine with a 20 GB but after installing all the games to reduce heat and sound pollution I have to admit I'm glad I have an Elite. Still though, $150+ for a 120 GB drive? You can get a 2.5" SATA that's 400 GB for a little less than that...

Um... yeah...

I'm fine with my 120 gig.

Why would you need bigger? Hmm...

Maybe Xbox 360 will have full downloadable games soon!

I agree the hard drive is already a bad value. If you don't install full games on the hard drive you should have way more than enough available space on a 120GB drive.

You can get wayy over 500 gigs sata for under 150 here in canada. Its stupid. MS just thinks that since its the xbox brand hardrive they can charge whatever they want. Well that makes no sense because it is no different than any other hdd.

obviously it is different than any other harddrive because the xbox 360 hardrive can only be used for the xbox 360 the consumer sees it as overpricing but its good marketing tactics and in the gaming world you need money to invent the next generation consoles

Ya I agree 120gb is definitely enough I just wonder how long and how much do you think I could actually save on the 120 gb by waiting.

I don't get why you can't just put your own 2.5in HD.

Lol I'm from Canada too, Toronto! I bought my 2.5" 320 for like $120 last summer so I just flew with estimations. It was such a pain to get it out though lol. Microsoft is able to charge relatively low amounts for their systems because they remove options that seem normal/logical. You can still play 360 without Wifi or an HDD but they both help.

I bought a 2.5 harddrive off of ebay. Easily opened up my old hard drive case and replaced my old 20 gig hard drive with a new 120 gb. Simple. The seller on ebay includes everything you need to do it urself. It all came up to about 65 bucks. Nice!!!! I now only have 5.6 gigs left lol.
